why are the plow frames different? I have a undercarrage for a blizzard that came with the truck. I neighbor was selling a blizzard off a chevy for a good price... . so since I had the dodge mount already installed, I bought it. Then I went to hang the light bar only to find 2" difference in width & angle change, no biggie cut, weld, fix. Then I started measuring the mount forks only to find the same difference in width. WHY? I would suspected thouse to be standard. The plow is 3 years old. My mount could been added in 2004 and the previous owner said I could get a 760-810. the chevy plow is a 760. Can anyone shead some light on my fitment problem?

My mount has a 3 x 5 crossbeam and the chevy has a 2 x 4 (approx)crossbeam. My dodge is a 2500 and the chevy is a 1500. I am thinking of cutting off the existing forks and moving them in to fit the plow blade frame I have, But I don't want to screw myself if I find an 810 in the future... .

A 7'6" plow on your truck is a waste. The one thing Blizzard does well is the power plow. I would wait to put either an 810 or even an 8611lp on your truck. You should be able to go to Blizzards website and get part numbers for mounts to compare between plows and truck brands.

I got the 760 already, it was 1/3 cost new a 760. A new 810 was another $2k more than a new 760. I have a meyers plow on my 85 dodge and I already bought the meyers lower mount for the 2001. Still needing a $200 lift tube frame plus an upgrade to a $500 E60 + another set of lights & joystick would give me two trucks sharing 1 blade... so I picked up the blizzard for slightly more $ than the additional meyers items, allowing me to keep a plow on each truck. The blizzard has some nice features over the 7 1/2' meyers. I think I will be happy once I get it mounted. I would buy an 810 in a minute, if you sent me $4k towards it.

You did not address the differences between the two blizzard mounts. Blizzard web site list the same plow box # for both the chevy & the dodge but the web site does not list any internal frame mounting attachment changes between them. The undercarrage & light harnesses are different but I suspected that.

... . Sorry, don't know what to tell you other then call a dealer.

I think without spending much $... I will make what I need from the chevy unit (have no need - will never own one). or make one from new. Have talk to a blizzard shop owner first, before I start cutting.

Every job is different.

I also think 7. 6 is narrow because I am used to a 10' plow with wings, take the wings off and I feel like it would take for ever to get anything done. There have been times I have had to take the wings off. (1. 5' or more and they come off)

there are 2 760's IIRC, a LD and HD. the plow you bought is a LD and your mounts are HD.

yes, maybe go bigger later... yes I can get the correct push beam for now.

I only do 2 driveways, mine & neighbor (both about 550') plus ample parking spots. Living in PA over the last couple years I think I plowed 3 or 4 times each year, thats why I can't justfy $3-$5K for new. I may have $1500 when all done in the blizzard plow and it would cost me $500 for used meyers mount to move my 7 1/2' from my 85 dodge. But, then I would only have 1 plow truck. So for $1k more I now have 2 complete plow trucks. I think it makes sense, money wise. Good to have a choice & a backup in plow trucks...

Yea i'm in the same boat as you. When i take the wings off my plow it feels like a baby. Only did it a few times, those boss wings are heavy, but worth every penny!
