why are the plow frames different? I have a undercarrage for a blizzard that came with the truck. I neighbor was selling a blizzard off a chevy for a good price... . so since I had the dodge mount already installed, I bought it. Then I went to hang the light bar only to find 2" difference in width & angle change, no biggie cut, weld, fix. Then I started measuring the mount forks only to find the same difference in width. WHY? I would suspected thouse to be standard. The plow is 3 years old. My mount could been added in 2004 and the previous owner said I could get a 760-810. the chevy plow is a 760. Can anyone shead some light on my fitment problem?
My mount has a 3 x 5 crossbeam and the chevy has a 2 x 4 (approx)crossbeam. My dodge is a 2500 and the chevy is a 1500. I am thinking of cutting off the existing forks and moving them in to fit the plow blade frame I have, But I don't want to screw myself if I find an 810 in the future... .
