It may be simpler than you think. Food for crude! It takes time but what goes around comes around. When America can't buy the oil oil-producing countries can't buy the goods and this will occur world-wide. I hope I see the day when AHAB the Arab can pound sand up his ... I hope he enjoys eating his oil-soaked sandgrass bread while he counts his billions going down as he is paying bunches for security to keep the common-folk from eating him!

Like Mr. "De Opresso Liber" (aka FLynes) said, it's not that simple. They don't all think like we do. The key to understanding Arbic culture is summed up in one phrase "In'sh'allah" (however the punctuation goes) (God Willing). Put like this, "Ahab" points his gun in your general direction, fires, and "Insh'allah" the bullet will strike the target. It's neither "Laws of Physics" or total random luck, but Allah himself who decides whether the bullet hits it's target. I refer to it as "In'sh'allah Windage" (kinda like KY windage, but less accurate). Just chalk it up to 1400 plus years of brainwashing. They actually were making credible gains in science back in like 1300 or so, but some Islamic scholars decided that wasn't Islamic, so they're stuck in time, especially in the more austere parts of the Arab world. Bigger cities in Iraq with educated (secularly speaking) people are not as tied to "In'sh'allah" as the rural ones.

Its not all about the oil companies making there money, which is causing our prices to go up. Yes, there are making billions and we are all suffering from it, but why isn't the real fact being talked about. DRILLING! The fact is, is that if more drilling would be allowed on the coasts of california, alaska and texas, we would see a reduction in oil prices. These "tree huggers" need to stay out of the way, and quite complaining about global warming. This is just a small pieces of the puzzle. China and the middle east are now using more oil than ever. Hate to say it, but it's all about supply and demand. If we can drill more, the problem will start to decline. Just my $. 02

I completely agree that that's part of the solution. The other part is to STOP subsidizing farmers who are participating in this sham ethanol project, which is skyrocketing the price of corn to $6/bushel and doing nothing to help; in fact, you lose MPGs with E85 vs straight gas.



As far as the tree huggers complaining about global warming, have you noticed that they are now referring to it as "climate change", because they can't explain why there's a foot of snow in Minnesota today!!!!! ANWAR and the Gulf of Mexico have enough oil to drive down the price of a barrel.

Ah, screw it... . as long as we keep electing these idiots to office, there will never be a viable answer.



My solution? Put the politicians and global warming freaks on their knees and shoot them in the back of the head, then pull our guys out of the Middle East and turn it into a glass parking lot.

I completely agree that that's part of the solution. The other part is to STOP subsidizing farmers who are participating in this sham ethanol project, which is skyrocketing the price of corn to $6/bushel and doing nothing to help; in fact, you lose MPGs with E85 vs straight gas.

First, ALL grain prices are thru the roof right now because of demand, not just on account of demand due to ethanol, but GLOBAL demand versus supply. Of course, you have to factor in the possibility that someone's out there playing the market, and when he/she/they decide(s) to take a profit, the bottom could fall out of the price, relatively speaking, of course. Plus there's the value of the USD relative to other currency. It's down, making US commodities cheaper than normal relative to other currencies. That drives up demand, which drives up price. Basically, the same factors that cause petroleum to be high.



MPGs are only less w/E85 in our vehicles because the compression ratio is too low. With proper compression ratios (more like diesel) E85 can run better than what our gas cars run now.
