Sorry Bob didn't see you rpost, I'll e-mail them tomorrow. I could believe the test truck picked up an addition 20hp and 35ft. lbs with the heater grid delete.

I musta missed something - but WOULD like to see any W/WO grid delete dyno sheets to see what the difference in power is - while the thought that the BASE gain is 40 ft lbs tq, and 30 HP - and still ANOTHER 35 ft lbs and 20 HP can be had with the grid-delete sounds nice - I'd have to see it on a dyno slip... ;):D

But somehow, a TOTAL potential gain of 75 ft, lbs, and 50 HP just seems, ah, sorta unrealistic... ;)

still nothing???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Any results on the 2nd gen intake?????????????? Been a long wait

You referring to actual dyno test comparisons?

I, for one, haven't seen a full spread - before and after, as well as with and without the grid adapter - same truck, same day and dyno. Would be nice - about the best I will be doing on the near horizon, is a 1500 mile RV tow from eastern Oregon down to Stockton California area and return, over familiar route that will give SOME vague indications...

Maybe some of the members attending May Madness will provide answers from the dyno runs? There HAVE been other dyno runs on several trucks showing a decently reliable general indications of gains...

I even offered to do the dyno run on my dime... just send me a intake. I f it looks good ill buy it. If it doesnt dyno well ill send it back. I got no responce... ... ... ... ... ... ...

I made the same sort of offer to GM on one of their new Corvettes - still haven't heard from them, either... :-laf :-laf

Anybody at May Madness can look up Mr Bob,he has been running an aftermarket intake manifold on his 2nd gen truck and has seen some mileage gains.

yeah vett 50K intake 250. with no responce or interest in getting some dyno results posted for the many who have asked my offer is not off base... . ben around TDR for a long time and done business with many. Not like I would scam an intake. I would just get the answer that many seek. My guess is that the gain is next to nothing other wise it would have been done a LONG time ago and posted in a manner that all could read.

WELL, there are several other threads on this board related to this particular intake - a few dyno results HAVE been posted, and all seem to indicate a roughly 30 HP gain and a bit more than that in torque. Do a search if you want to see those results - but here's a dyno run with the SS intake, on a 3rd generation truck WITHOUT the grid delete:

#ad

I doubt there is any significant power difference to be seen between the 3rd and 2nd generation trucks, all else being equal, and it's my guess that the grid delete option will likely be worth about another 5-10 HP, and corresponding torque increase.

But for sure, if you're looking for BIIIIG gains, in a stand-alone item, you're probably better off spending your $$$ elsewhere! In my case, I've made mods to other parts of my intake, as well as to the exhaust - and other add-ons that pretty much require good breathing for best effect - so the intake horn was a weak link that *I* am now satisfied is as good as I'm likely to get at this level of $$$...

YMMV! ;)

Jus pullin yer chain!:p:D

Perhaps - but at the same time, your comments, as well as others here who are asking/wanting specific dyno readouts, especially as related to 3rd generation vs 2nd generation gains, as well as specifically what the grid delete option adds, are all entirely valid, and I have the same curiosity!:D

The technology of larger and smoother intake/exhaust tracts as a tool to increase engine power is certainly not new, nor is the Cummins immune to that technology - so it simply boils down to how MUCH in our specific application are the gains?

I'm certainly sold on the likelihood there ARE decent gains, for both engine intake types, as well as what the grid delete adds to the mix, but being one of those "show me" type guys, really will be watching for additional specific documentation as it slowly appears, and it will... ;):D

Gary, I think he's refering to the availability. I'm in line also for one. It's getting hard to control the drool:D. I see its now being advertized on DTTs web site. Also still interested in the ladder bars
