I have the new beta software for those interested, please either email me or pm your email address for the software.

Thank you

I'll jump on this smoke wagon.

I've had the Smarty Jr installed on my stock truck for 5 months now and it's great. It's always smoked a little (even stock) under low rpm, torque converter locked situation (such as on ramps). The Jr. has made it smoke more.

A few days ago I had my first opportunity to tow something heavy; 9000lb tractor on 24' gooseneck; and it smoked like a freight train. I was absolutely amazed at the level of smoke it spewed. If I had been behind a truck blowing that much smoke I would've sworn something was wrong w/ it:) However, it pulled much better than stock and mileage wasn't affected.

That's my experience. I'm sure Marco and Bob will work it out, but if I have to contend with the smoke to keep the Jr. , I will.

Actually I am just back from a 15 Min. test run. Maybe twenty accel runs of varying intensity. I would say that so far it's about 20% less smoky. Still puts out a large puff if I go to 3/4 throtle @ 18-1800 RPM then it clears up. 1/2 throttle @ same RPM: a smallish puff, then clear. 2k RPM w/ 3/4 throttle puff is smaller. Power seems the same. More after my twenty mile commute in the AM tomorow.

My smarty came to day. That was fast thanks Bob. Do guys think I should install the new beta software first? Or try it the way it is?

Thanks for the candy bar made the mistake of opening up the box in front of my kids turned in to a fight. That was fun.

Bob G... . you are showing your age again ;)

I loaded the latest Jr version last night. It appears to smoke less on Leve 1. I get a slight puff when I mash it now vs. the big puff I got before. It seems to spool up faster as I hear the turbo sooner. Still a small haze under normal acceleration but definitly less then before. This so far is better Bob and Marco, thanks!

It was 60 deg. on the way to work, I'll know better when it gets warmer here (It was 92 deg. last weekend). I won't be able to tow for at least 3 weeks so I will have to report back then. I will be keeping track of my MPG on a 2000 mile round trip run to Yellowstone next week.

After todays testing I feel I should lower my "precentage of less smoke" from 20% to 10-15% Sorry Marco/bob. (maybe its the small % of Biodiesel I am running?)

Does this smoke issue apply to Smarty S-06 too? or just the JR?

I've heard that the 3 levels of the JR are exactly the same as levels 1, 3 and 5 on the S-06, however, the power ratings are different.

On the JR, 1=40, 2=70 and 3=100hp.

On the S-06, 1=30, 3=60 and 5=90hp.

Can anyone shed some light on this issue being JR only?

Thanks,

Louis

I just installed sjr on level 1 went on a short ride. It does smoke allot but not for very long. Turned my white truck black quick. I wasnt towing I wounder if it will be worse with a load. I want to set it on #2 but I am concerned about the clutch holding up. I tow gooseneck trailers weighing 16 to 20k. You can tell the power difference, provide you dont miss any shifts. I wish I would have driving it first for more of a reference. I have read some guys get less mpg on #1 when towing, what do you think?
