Hdy guys... had a previous thread about towing clutches and these were the most recommended, can anyone tell me the differences between the two, pro's and con's etc?

Thanks!

dual disk holds a lot more power, costs more, shifts slower

OFE holds a lot less power, costs less, and shifts faster

an FE is a "light" as I would go on a single disk

Don't have a DD, but do have a ConOfe for towing and love it. I pull a toyhauler and the rig has weighed as much as 21500lbs. I actually called Pete at SBC before purchase to ask which one to get for this purpose and he told me the ofe was the way to go. Good advice and good clutch.

dual disk = sledpulling

single = no sledpulling

I had the OFE, it was great (still have it) - shifted fast... On the other had once it slipped, you better let out of it else you were going to blow right through it

With the dual disk, you can spool the turbo by slipping the clutch for a short period and dumping it and it graps... very fun for 4th gear burnouts

ofe= organic/feramic combo

fe= feramic

feramic takes a higher heat before meltdown than the ol' ceramic disc commonly seen in big rigs. feramic holds the most power in a single disc. that's why the new spring dampened double disc set ups a ceramic, not feramic like the big dogs slep pulling.

ofe would be fine if your not a hot rodder.

I can slam gears all day long with my friends 3600lb SB DD, I think it shifts just as fast as my other friends FE. I like the DD manners a lot more than the FE. I would drive a 3250lb DD before a FE. The 3250lb DD has held 800HP. Just be aware the DD is loud disengaged.

What can I say - I got used to it and kinda like the noise...

And its only when you have the clutch pedal depressed - best not to sit at a light with it held in anyway, tough on hydros

I've got a 3600 6cb unsprung in my truck, and I LOVE it... shifts really fast

makes a lot of noise

I've tried a 12cb sprung, and I didn't like how it shifted... there have only been a couple complaints about it and mine was one :(

but I love what I've got now
