5th wheel clearance-

Prodigy toubleshooting

OK, friend of mine has an 04 gasser 2500... its got the towing package, etc.

He has lost the left turn signal and brake light (same pin) on the 7-way receptacle. Now, I know the newer 06 use a computer to control/protect this that must be dealer reset, but the 03-05 use fuses correct? He says the fuses are fine under hood...

The thing is pretty much corrosion free (even compared to mine), so I doubt its a connector issue. Although I have heard the connector between the receptacle to the truck's wiring is a known problem...

Any other places to look??

I would check the connector to the plug and just start there and if there is no power there then I do believe there are relays and other fuses to check.

I have an 03 V10. The one signal doesn't

flash on the trailer harness. The 03 has two flashers soldered into the fuse block

under the hood which I believe are for the trailer lites. The flashers in this truck are not under the dash. I had to actually disconnect the wire harness from the block and break apart the block to find the relay flashers. I am getting a computer tech to solder two new ones in as I do not know which one is defective. Dodges fix is to replace the complete block for the fuses ($175. 00)

If your configuration is the same here is the relay # needed Tyco - VFMA-21F42-S01. I just received the relays have not done the fix yet. Hopefully this works.

Would this kill his brake light too?

I'm not sure about the brake light. I got the relay flashers replaced and tested the lights today. Everything works now like new. I replaced both flashers . Wasn't sure which one was defective. Only wanted to do the job once.

How hard was it to pull the PDS? I may attempt replacing the relay in his truck...

I also have another idea which involves splicing into the truck's wiring and powering relays installed in a box under the bumper)...
