I have just installed RV275 injectors pn432193635. Were advertised as 300 hp injectors from MWFI. But correct part number in Bosch boxes. The truck seems to run ok evens idles smoother. The problem I'm having is every time I shift or step on the throttle I get a lot of smoke. Only mod is an edge easy box. Also fuel gauge seems to be dropping faster. Haven't checked mileage yet just seems that way. Have not changed driving habits. Do these injectors smoke a lot more or is there something wrong? Was hoping for more fuel mileage but with all that smoke I wonder. Any suggestions or is this normal?

Thanks Clayton

Could you clarify what modifications do you have on your truck.

I am going to have those installed too, and was wondering about the smoke. I do not want the smoke, especially with the high price of diesel fuel. I was looking for a mpg increase in the 275 RV injectors. I hope there is going to be a reason for the exessive smoke in your case.

Does anyone else have noticed that?

The RV275's will smoke more than stock injectors, but not a great deal more. They will give you better mileage than stock injectors if you drive the same way.

What color is the smoke? Could be the VP is going out. You did mention your mileage is getting worse, one of the dying VP's symptoms.

The vp has been replaced and an air dog lift pump so I don't think that is the problem. Not sure about the mileage haven't checked it yet. The gauge just seems to be dropping faster. But the smoke is a great deal more. The EZ is set in the middle position. The smoke is black.

I haven't used the 275's or an EZ so I hope my answer is accurate. Doesn't the EZ have a jumper wire you can move to adjust low boost fueling? If so, decrease it. It sounds to me like you're just dumping in too much fuel before the turbo spools. Have you tried adjusting your driving style? Have you turned off the EZ and tested without it? The only EZ I've seen was on a buddy's '01 5spd with stock injectors and it smoked a lot.

I've been thinking about the 275's for my truck also, but I can't decide if it's better to just spend a little more for the DDP 40 or 75 series in order to get better quality control and more precision spray angles.

My very first BOMB was an EZ. The smoke startled me. I tried all three jumper settings but I just needed to learn to roll into the throttle a little slower. Then I got some Mach 1. 5's & again I was startled at the smoke. Again, with a change in driving style I fixed the problem. Now I'm running Mach 3. 8's with a Smarty on #9. I've learned to roll into the throttle & rarely see more than a light puff of smoke. Once I blew the boost gauge hose off the manifold bolt & let me tell you there was some black smoke. Try rolling into the throttle slower until you get about 10 psi of boost.

I'm like darkhorse, rolling into the throttle with finesse works well. I also have the Smarty (can blot out the sun if I choose) and RV 275's and had to learn to drive the truck all over again when I installed each. Has the "new factor" worn off the injectors yet?

The other possibility is a boost leak. What boost psi are you running at full throttle?

Aprox 30 lb under load. 6 or 8 crusing down a flat rd at 70 or75. Maby the smoke is normal it just seemed like a lot. BTW no new factor. Bought the injectors for better mileage not for power. Truck has plenty of that.
