This is about the time of year that i take the Colt 22 out of the truck and replace it with the SP 101 Ruger in 357. Randy

did you get the xdm or the standard xd? the new m's are cool I was playing with them while i was waiting on my backround check. i just bought a m1a socom II and a red dot scope. i was tempted to get a new xdm . 40 but i already have 4 pistols and really wanted a rifle.

The XD has one of the best out of the box triggers of all the plastic guns. It's a great gun except for the disclaimer near the back of the owners manual that states, basically the gun may shoot point of aim point of impact at 25 yards. If your particular gun shoots high you may need to hold 6 o'clock to impact the center of the target. I can't believe they print this sort of thing in the owners manual.

Yes, my XD shoots high. Very high a 25 yards. Since all my other handguns shoot point of aim point of impact I now need to replace the rear sight with a sight that is lower.

There not bad just not fast. I used it for my back up* or when I really needed to conceal.

*Doesn't everybody carry two pistols?

Unless you are target shooting, I would leave it where it is. Learn to hold below center mass at close ranges and find the POA/POI. If you engage a target a 7' there will not be an issue. If you need to make a long shot, you will not have to guess much holdover. Just a thought! GregH
