As noted, I replaced the FCA, both sensors, injector supply lines a few days ago... today I replaced both FASS filters and am happy to report the particulate filter was water free after nearly 25k.

The stumbling start seems hit and miss, so I have ruled out fuel. I definitely have one with more "report" than the others... it quiets down under acceleration.

I am due in Florida in a week or so... time will tell. But I am getting very discouraged with this pile of spare parts I am slowly amassing.

It is also hit/miss on its smoke... sometimes you swear I had some sort of programmer and othertimes its not present at all...

EGTs seem to be holding higher as of late too...

Since the price of oil has plummeted, the trade in value has inceased... and we are going to be forced to trade one of these cars for a four door SUV very soon...

X2, any word Steve? I too have had the F1 experience.

you had 6 injectors fail from water contaminated fuel also???? That is the problem that started everything down hill with Steve's. Not a vendor discrepancy. And Steve is being taken care of by myself.

Steve, the offer still stands

I am going to pull the injector electric connectors and hose them out with terminal cleaner since they appear wet with fuel...

I also forgot to mention the roughness around 1500rpm... there seems to be a shake at that RPM, although I don't know if that is the nature of the beast? Imagine a gas engine missing on one cylinder... I got a good feel of it yesterday running in our snowstorm... like something out of balance.

Llyod, you've already said its not the injectors. About the only thing left is the cp3. Any other ideas of things to look at? I'm sort of stuck and out of ideas...

Those connectors with oil (actually diesel fuel I believe) are the injector electrical connections, which I will address tomorrow.

I pulled the center connector to replace the lines... that connector was wet also...

I just ordered new injectors today

I will let ya know if that takes care of the issues on my truck

I still say if it looks like a skunk and smells like a skunk it's more than likely a skunk

The whole part about F1 that I disliked from the very begining was the fact that They could not be contacted. I got info second hand.

For the price I payed I would have thought a phone call would have been nice. I have nothing against Don or his work. The info I got back from my Dealer was, they were pretty worn out, but They SHOULD last you awhile now that they have been rebuilt. It has been exactly 1 year since they were rebuilt. This summer I could hear a slight miss in the exhaust, but couldn't feel it.

Nope, failed yes, water no.

And Lloyd, I have no doubts on your ability. Steve is in good hands there.

I just cleaned the connectors... all seemed to have a light oil in them.

I also cleaned the iat...

Will see if there is any change later today...

I replaced the Injectors with new ones on Wednesday. I put around 300 miles on them now.

This truck has never idled so well in the entire time I've owned it.

I thought this entire time I had a tire out of balance until I installed these new injectors.

A couple of side notes:

before the new injectors were installed my over head was reading 31-34. 7 MPG

Now it says 18. 1 mpg

and another plus the anoying pulse when going down hill with the cruise on is totaly gone

Made a deal with someone on Ebay and got these new ones for 1625. 00 delivered to my door.

I hated to spend that much money again, cause 1 year ago I spent 1700 for tips and repair though F1.

I 'll let you know if they keep working as well as they do now.

Your mileage change indicates to me there was an issue electronically... whch is what I fear is my issue. Unfortunately, I don't have the overhead being its an ST model.

My pulsing eased after having the Flux 1s installed as well... but it is starting to come back occassionally, it was fine for the 300 miles home Thursday.

As Lloyd stated, the connectors on the head.

I am now convinced 100% that I have a failing injector... this AM was the icing on the cake. Started the truck this AM to have my expected rough idle/miss. What was odd was the fact the miss would go away as soon as the heating grids turned off, and the miss would return as soon as the heating grids turned on. I find this very significant in the fact it tells me one injector is not working when voltages drop (weak solenoid)... as shown by the miss when the heating grids have the voltage pulled down. I could make the miss go away by simply increasing the RPMs, which also increases the output from the alternator.

I am pretty sure that the solenoid portion of the injector is not replaced or really checked as part of the rebuild process... Lloyd???

So I have what appear as the only two options... see if Dodge can pinpoint the bad injector or replace all six injectors with new.

Steve, if it is getting to the point where it is doing it every morning while cold, it will be easier to isolate. You can fire the truck up, and pull one injector harness plug at a time. This will isolate 2 cylinders at a time. Once you have it narrowed down to a bank of 2, then we can isolate it to the problematic one.

I will check on the price for a new injector. I had the prices when we spoke last, but have since misplaced them. Also, the solenoid can be replaced, but I am not sure that it van be purchased separately.

As far as the solenoid, that is not usually a warranty item with the F1 injectors since it is not an item modified, nor is it usually tampered with in any way. However, if it would show on the initial test when the injectors are being rebuilt, then it may be an item that would fall under a rebuild item.

What will the truck do when one harness is pulled? Will it get smooth or idle rough? I guess I am thinking about what a gasser does when you pull a plug wire...

very similar to a gasser with the wire disconnected, but with no fuel going in, it will drop in RPM's and if there is a miss it will keep missing. When you get to the problematic one, you will here a difference in idle.

Well if it (the harness) takes out two injectors you will have a possibility of the truck running in two ways. (Lets say injector 1 is bad. )

1. pull the first harness- injectors 1&2 are now not working truck runs rough but is only down 1 more injector since the #1 injector is the bad one.

2. pull the next harness- injectors 3&4 are not working and #1 as well! Truck is now running on only 3! pulling the third harness will net the same results based on injector 1 being bad.

I hope this made some sense!

Ok, it will probably be a day or two... only so much time I get to spend on it...

Hopefully tomorrow the local garage tells me they can do the injector efficiency test... I'll get it done ASAP.
