Somebody has to come up with a logical explanation how this is only an ECM issue. Per Amsoil:It still has an oil psi issue?? (not a real issue, but an ECM issue). .
Um, ok... but what is actually happening with the oil pressure?amsoil said:“In actuality, the new on-board diagnostic (OBD) system is more sensitive to oil pressure fluctuations, giving warnings at earlier levels than before”
Remember the actual switch is a on off pressure switch set around 6 psi. That is it. The ECM either thinks there is less than 6 psi or that there is more then 6 psi. For whatever reason some 3G trucks with the BMK-15 get oil warning lights. Why? Because they are too sensitive? How so?
Is the oil pressure at startup delayed just enough for the ECM to trigger the warning?
Are there actual pressure spikes and droops (as the Amsoil response seems to imply) where the droops are below 6 psi? When and why do these fluctuations happen with the BMK-15?
