what would be a fair price to pay for an EZ for my 99? I have the 275's in it and I have heard these and the EZ are a good combo, not something I have to have but if I could find one at a good price I might try it.

thanks,

Cory

If youre gonna do it Once, Do it Right...

Drag Comp, or Juice/ Attitude? and some Big Mach Injectors...

Because it's more the 2nd and 3rd time around...

check the TDR classifieds. The EZ is a good unit, easy to install one plug in (no wire tap) If you are running a stock clutch, that will be your weak link.

I have a South Bend MU 0090 Con O clutch so the clutch should not be a problem, although it does have about 150,000 miles on it, I don't really know how many miles one should last but, it has been fine so far.

Ez

I bought one on ebay last Sunday just got it today and put it on but only had a chance to drive it a few miles, I was wondering if there is much difference in fuel mileage between the three jumper settings assuming you drive it the same on each setting? Just curious because it says that level 1 is : 60hp and 160fts, level 2: 63hp and 170fts, and level 3: 65hp and 180fts increase in power, I just wouldn't think there would be that much difference between the three, and that I might as well just leave it on level 3. But if there wasn't a noticeable difference why did they put three levels?

thanks,

Cory

Where did those figures come from? If I remember right, the three settings were the pounds of boost where the extra fueling started. I think the different settings were 3, 10, and 20 lbs of boost. The max hp and torque were the same for all three settings.

My '99 EZ instructions said that the three jumper settings determined at which boost level the fueling started. I tried them all and couldn't tell the difference. I left mine at the middle. Great dependable power which shouldn't kill your Con"O" unless you go too big on the tires or too heavy a load.

That is what it says in the instruction manual, it says that is what they found on an actual test vehicle. After I read through it again it also says that the different settings are different levels of low boost fueling to help eliminate smoke, especially if you have injectors or other mods.

For you guys that have one did you actually see an increase in mileage over stock if you drove it "right", and could you tell a difference in mileage between the three settings? I figure if not and I'm not getting too much smoke I'll just leave it where it is which is supposed to be on level 3.

Thanks again,

Cory

Empty,my '99 would easily get 19 mpg w/a/c on@75mph with Mach 1. 6's and an EZ. You'll see modest mpg gains but especially a much more responsive vehicle.

Thanks, did you have much smoke with that combination? How do Mach 1. 6's compare to the 275's?
I actually had DD2's originally. They malfunctioned and Diesel Dynamics replaced them in a week. Great service! I bought some Mach 1. 6's in the interim thinking that I'd be awhile and couldn't really tell any difference. Stick with the RV 275's. My friend up the street has had them and a Van Aaken box on for eight years now. I never see smoke coming out of his truck. High altitude or a bog situation with my DTT auto tight convertor would belch some. Bigger injectors over the 275's or a more powerful box are going to command a stronger clutch=more money. My friend's truck idles smooth and delivers decent mpg and is reliable.

The South Bend site said my clutch is good for 400hp and 900ft. lbs, so with this set up I should be well under that, and I don' t plan to do any other performance mods.

Thanks for the info,
Cory

I don't know what the deal is, I went to their website and it gives totally different numbers than is in the manual I got so who knows.

I have the EZ and Mach 1. 6's and I noticed a couple miles per gallon change on the freeway only, around town it stayed pretty much the same. I did notice engine shutter on setting 3 and turbo lag on setting 1, on setting 2 it runs very smooth and gives great power while empty and towing, it also helped control the egt's since it allows the boost to run up higher without de-fueling.
