I bought one on ebay last Sunday just got it today and put it on but only had a chance to drive it a few miles, I was wondering if there is much difference in fuel mileage between the three jumper settings assuming you drive it the same on each setting? Just curious because it says that level 1 is : 60hp and 160fts, level 2: 63hp and 170fts, and level 3: 65hp and 180fts increase in power, I just wouldn't think there would be that much difference between the three, and that I might as well just leave it on level 3. But if there wasn't a noticeable difference why did they put three levels?
thanks,
Cory
Empty,my '99 would easily get 19 mpg w/a/c on@75mph with Mach 1. 6's and an EZ. You'll see modest mpg gains but especially a much more responsive vehicle. That is what it says in the instruction manual, it says that is what they found on an actual test vehicle. After I read through it again it also says that the different settings are different levels of low boost fueling to help eliminate smoke, especially if you have injectors or other mods.
For you guys that have one did you actually see an increase in mileage over stock if you drove it "right", and could you tell a difference in mileage between the three settings? I figure if not and I'm not getting too much smoke I'll just leave it where it is which is supposed to be on level 3.
Thanks again,
Cory
I actually had DD2's originally. They malfunctioned and Diesel Dynamics replaced them in a week. Great service! I bought some Mach 1. 6's in the interim thinking that I'd be awhile and couldn't really tell any difference. Stick with the RV 275's. My friend up the street has had them and a Van Aaken box on for eight years now. I never see smoke coming out of his truck. High altitude or a bog situation with my DTT auto tight convertor would belch some. Bigger injectors over the 275's or a more powerful box are going to command a stronger clutch=more money. My friend's truck idles smooth and delivers decent mpg and is reliable. Thanks, did you have much smoke with that combination? How do Mach 1. 6's compare to the 275's?
