I made my mind up. I saw a truck today which actually made my decision for me. My wifes Jeep Liberty has a dark charcoal grey on the bottom which is very sharp. I am gonna spray the fender flares, bumpers that color & color matched grey Line-x on the rockers. I know some of you don't care for that, but I like it. I think this will look good, if not, I'll redo it. :-laf

i think it's going to look great like you describe. exactly how i would do it... maybe add some fender flares for some added protection... i'd think about mudflaps too to protect that paint:cool:

Yep. I am painting my Bushwacker extenda fenders grey & mud flaps will be going on too. :-laf

Cummins724, I'll give you another vote of confidence. Looking at the photo-shop picture above I think the charcoal gray will look very good with your copper color. I know not everyone's tastes are the same but I think it is really going to look good. I personally didn't like the black but the gray some how looks very good with the copper. I think the Line-X color gray will look excellent. Now you just need to get some nice tires and rims under the truck.
Regards, Mike.

Thanks Mike. I know it needs some rims, but its gonna have to wait a little while... . I'm broke. :-laf

I think that will look great. I thought about doing the same thing just different colors. I was going to have the liner sprayed first then get the paint to match the liner. Its easier to match that way and I can get an exact match.

I Like it. Finish it up and let's see it complete.

:-laf I am working on it. I was off work today, got the grille installed, bumper installed & fog lights. Then I got the tailgate blocked out & about ready for primer/paint. I also got 1 fender flare sanded down..... its coming along. ;)

I am all for the graphite. Thank goodness you went with that over black, way more tasteful and I hated to see you throw black on it after all the work you did with the classy Orange. Now wheel color will be your next hurdle:-laf

NO loss of interest here - looks great - not sure, but I assume the lighter grey on the lower sides will be finished in color to match the front bumper? The bumper really came out nice! :)

Thanks man, I was getting worried that I lost my group of advisors. :-laf The Line-x guy took the paint code for the grey, he is ordering the exact tint. He gaurantees color match. I'm really close to knocking this project out by my preset deadline [April 25 Diesel Dawgs] I got the tailgate blocked out today & one fender flare prepped for paint. It goes fast when I'm off work. :-laf

Thanks. Now that I see it, that color was the perfect choice. I think I made the right choice, kinda looks clean & mean. I can't do wheels right now, money is getting tight. I'm gonna polish these wheels & run them till funds get built up again. ;)

I called the Line-x guy today to give him my paint code. He told me that he thinks my paint is to fresh for Line-x. He suggested that I wait 60 days before getting it done. I might just spray the bottom of the truck in the charcoal color for now, then get Line-x before winter. This sucks.

... He suggested that I wait 60 days... This sucks.

To steal a line from a WWII movie (about commandos blowing a dam to topple a bridge Nazis were using): "Patience, lad. These things take time. "

Surely you've got some interior work to do, or some engine parts to chrome or polish, eh? :) Oh, yeah, those wheels are just bawlin' for some attention; they're feelin' left out!

I was going to suggest a charcoal gray earlier, but others beat me to it. You know, if the lines/curves work out, the wheels might just look pretty good in the same metallic gray. Of course, you might have to keep the rubber shined...

From what I saw of the truck, you've some real talent. If you ever get tired of working for someone else or working for yourself, you could always work ... for yourself. Name your price and make it high. Those who want the job done right and done well, will pay well. Work enough to live and put money by for retirement. And yer so far off the beaten path, the enviro thugs won't be bothered to find you. (I haven't been on roads that remote or narrow in years! Like when I'd ride along with me Dad when he was running 'shine done Franklin County way... . )

Thanks man. I already installed my seats, passenger side door panels. I need a new harness for the drivers side which I'm hoping to get today, then install the drivers side panels today. My fender flares were painted yesterday, tailgate got last coat of 2k primer & will be painted today. Only thing I need to do is get a rear bumper & paint it. :-laf I hope you guys enjoyed the views, I just love it out here. Try doing a restoration like this in the city. :-laf Out here, my Uncle is the Supervisor & my buddy is the Sheriff, I've got it made. :-laf I like doing these projects, but I just don't have time to do other peoples vehicles. Besides that, I have a little boy & would rather spend my spare time teaching him, then making money. Not to mention, my wife is due with our 2nd child in October... . the student has become the teacher. ;)

may be too late but I was just thinking of another color that might go good with your truck is 2006 Honda galaxy gray. here is a pic of my wifes civic in that color

the paint has nice "travel" to it, it goes from a frosted silver to a bronzish color based on the light.

I have even considered two toning my silver truck with that color.
