My temp control stared to act up the other day. I would turn it to the hot side which was fine. When I go to turn it to the cool side it doesn't react. I can turn it back and forth several times and it finally will blow cool air. Has anyone experienced this problem? If so what did it take to fix it. Thanks for any help.

My 97 had a brokent temp contol cable when I bought it, dont know if a 02 uses the same setup. The new cable was reasonable but not very fun to put in. I was able to get it with the dash in the truck but if I did it again I would pull the dash.

I had/have the same problem, mine turned out to be the Blend door module (not sure if I'm calling it by the right name). It's a small electronic box that rotates the Hot/Cold door to control temperature. It's located under the Heater box just to the right of the Trans Tunnel. You can unplug it, and check the voltage at the harness. The voltage is variable in relationship to the position of the temperature knob on the heater control panel. I can't remember the voltage #'s, but each notch on the knob changes the voltage, this in turn tells the module to rotate the door. I thought my Blend door was stuck, and this broke the plastic coupling between the module and the door but it turns out the module itself is bad and just wants to keep rotating. I don't know the part #'s or if it is even listed in the parts drawing. You may just need the plastic coupling or you may need the module like I do. If you have to remove the Module, it's a PITA. There are three screws to take out, two are easy, the last one is jammed in the back, you need to use an L shaped Phillips. Good Luck! If you remove the Module, you should be able to change position on the door when the AC/Heat is off, it's harder to turn it while there is air flow pushing on the door. This will give you either full heat or cold only, nothing in between. I've been running mine like this for a year.

I looked at the actuator last night. with the heat on and the fan on and the dial on cold, the the metal shaft from the actuator to the blower is rotating counter clockwise continuous. with the dial turned to hot it rotates clockwise continuous. Can anyone verify that is is not suppose to stop? There is a web site called heater treater that sells a new metal shaft that states this will fix it.

It happened to me and it was a vacuum leak, there is an elbow fitting on the passenger side firewall that leaks, and the T fitting on firewall towards driver, hoses crack,

I looking for conformation on this question as well. I'm in the same boat right now. Want to know if I need to order a module? JKinney, can you provide any insite to this as I see you did the HeaterTreater repair?

Thanks

Order the heater treater repair and install it. I did not do his calibration . My heat ac etc is working great and has been since the install of this new piece.

Here's my delimea today. I'm going on a road trip TOMORROW and won't be able to get this kit until I get home (3 weeks from now). Can you tell me what the calibration is? I would appreicate it.
