Good experience with air bags
I just got done installing a set of Air-Lift bags on my 93' W250. The installation was not as straight forward as I thought. I had to drill an extra hole on the upper brackets in order to clear the factory frame brace/crossmember that was over the rear axle. Everything else was a snap. Immediately after installing them, I headed to a local landscaping company to get a yard of crushed rock. The ride home was really good and the rear did not sag too much. I noticed rear bouncing has been greatly reduced while driving empty. I would recommend rear air bags for all 1st gen owners.
I'm just finishing the installation on my truck using Airlift bags and compressor.
I will say the the airbag install has been interesting. I've done these things before, but this one is more of a challenge than others.
