I think at 225000 miles, my head gasket is signing off. I am loosing coolant, and it looks like it is seeping around the front of the head and block. Does any one have any suggestions? I heard that there was a way you could use a common rail head gasket so I wouldn't have to ring the block. Is this true? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Get an inspection mirror as the weep hole is on the bottom of the pump. If the front of the head to block area is wet with oil then my bet is you're right on w/head gasket on its way. Hope its the water pump.

First off YES in most HG failures-at least to high boost- the oil leaks instead of the water. so check everything else before assuming the worst.

If you are less than 400hp < 55 #s boost then go back stock if not use a . 010 over marine 12 v you can hold your old one up to it and CAREFULY drill the coolant holes out to the right sizes with a step bit...

dont forget studs for a 60# limit. BTW some will say tourque to 125 or 128 but I urge you to stay around 120 I broke one going over 122 not tourqing it but found it broken many months later...

Well I went to go check the weep hole, but I didn't have to go that far. It is clearly seeping from the seem of where the head and block come together.
