Upgrade steering linkage part#

The following are the part numbers that I have found for the upgraded parts and just wanted to verify with others that they are correct.



Steering Linkage: 52122362AE (part# ending in AA-AD are on the recall list)

Pitman Arm: 68039930AA

Damper: 52106909AE



All parts are available online through Dodge Parts Online Parts & Accessories Catalog a lot cheaper that the dealerships offer. What I did find interesting is that 52122362AA cost $144, however the same part# ending in AB-AE is $231. Not sure why the first set would cost so much less?

When I last checked those are the correct part numbers. My best guess on the price increase is "'cause they can".

I was most concerned about the Dampner part#. The parts tech at the dealership I called said that it never changed from the old style, but I know for a fact that it has. Everyone says with the updated linkage, the old dampner becomes usless. So, I'm not sure thats the correct part#.

You have to use the '08 steering damper with the '08 linkage, at least I had too! Different mount studs. BTW, the '08 linkage is MUCH more stout and does not induce toe in geometry change during rebound or in turns the way the rearlier "Y" linkage did. I think that helps both handling and tier wear. The AA thru AD linkage was recalled because the ball joint ends were at the wrong angle and under extreme suspension travel it was 'concievable' that the ball joints could be popped out! Result: Total loss of steering!

Here are all the parts that I ordered:



1. The new tie rod and drag link assembly: 52122362-AE.

2. 68039930AA for an 08 Pitman arm.

3. The stabilizer # is 52122370AB or 52122370AA, I 'think' they are the same, but I received th 'AB' PART... ???

call up source automotive, comes with a skyjacker dampner with a reasonable price, also they install the grease zerks before they ship them out so you can grease it, the stock ones are non greasable

Great point! I am going to drill and tap mine for gearse fittings. Wish I had done it before installing but at least this way I'll know the fittings are accessable!
