2010 arrival at dealer

I ordered my new megacab on Sept 26 2009 and still no build date :{

I ordered my mega on Sept. 23rd, and can't get a build date yet, either.

Everything you can do to a 5. 9 can be done to a 6. 7. EVERYTHING!

Maybe that's correct BUT... You have a boat load of emissions stuff all over the place, Both electronic and mechanical. For some who like mod their trucks other than just with an air filter, dpf back exhaust system and a lift kit have a whole other bunch of work to do than us 5. 9 guys. All these delete kits and nonsense to get the same HP as a mildly tuned 5. 9. I've only seen one aftermarket intake, quite a few air filter set ups and some other bits. They have electronics like Smarty for the 6. 7's as well. And for the owners who live in states where the whole smog laws are perhaps starting... . That's a lot more work to do to put the truck back to stock. I just have to worry about a cat being there or not. More money has to be spent as well on a 6. 7 that's going to be modded... . You have a EGR valve delete, EGR cooler delete and a DPF electronics delete and unless your going with a new turbo back system you'll need a DPF delete pipe That's around $580 to $800 extra just to get the junk off. I'm not flaming the 6. 7's but the 5. 9's pretty darn flexible. Oh, I've yet to see any Turbo upgrades for the 6. 7's... I've heard they are in the works but that's it.

Your going to pay almost the exact same amount on a 6. 7 as you will a 5. 9. Emissions is cake; the same exhaust for an 04. 5-07 5. 9 application is a DIRECT bolt-on on a 6. 7, thus removing the DPG/cats/muffler if you so choose. Theres no point in doing a muffler and/or DPF delete only; theres a cat on the downpipe directly after the turbo. You might gain a little just throwing maybe $100 worth of pipe in place of the DPF and muffler, but your going to get the best improvements throwing a 5. 9 exhaust on there. The EGR/Cooler delete is $125...



ANY turbo that will work on a 5. 9 will work on a 6. 7. Smarty and H&S have code free programs so you dont throw any codes on turbo upgrades and emissions deletes. Theres really only 2 programmers that are worth the money... and I know for a fact you can run Smarty on a completely stock truck with no issues. Yes, that means full factory exhaust in place

I did remember seeing the '10 at the Chicago Auto show, and the had a cut away model truck sitting there that had all the new improvements pointed out. One of those was larger ball joints,heck that only took 16 years of complaining for that one.

I got an email from Marty at Dave Smith Motors and it said in the email that the 2010's are on their way. I'll call up Marty tomorrow to see what he says about their expected arrival and see if maybe he can send me a dealer brochure if Dodge will continue to offer them.

Local dealer has a Black crewcab shortbed I looked it over and All I can say is WOW Dodge is making em look even better built in brake controller a little extra room in back seat only thing that is kinda wierd is it has bigger wheel well opening's and it look's kinda funny with the stock tires on it . That thing was beggin for bigger tires over all I like it now I just have to finish wearing out mine lol the new Mirror's look good but there making em look like the Ford's and Chevy's with the turn light's in them backend was changed a little also tailgate look's like the 1500's with that little flip at the top and new style tail light's plus for the guy's that pull trailer's the 4 pin and the 7 pin are right there on the bumper

I stopped by Autoworld Dodge in Petaluma and they said they will not be getting the 2010's in until the middle of January... ... . And they still had over 30 2009 6. 7's on the lot... . Hmmm. Sure do love my 5. 9!

I stopped by a local dealer Wednesday afternoon and looked at two 2010 HD's. I was looking at things like GVWR and the service locations for oil filter, fuel filter, etc. The salesman piped up, "Check out the tailgate, look how lite it is!". I looked at him perplexed. Do they really sell HD's based on the heft of the tailgate? We went inside to speak about ordering one and I asked to see the list of available options. He handed me a piece of paper and a pen and asked me to write down what I was looking for. Again, I was dumb founded. Was I supposed to guess at what Dodge was offering differently from last year? I politely left and asked him to call me when I could see a list of options, not cobble my own together out of 2009 options and my own personal wish list.
