I just received a Amsoil dual oil bypass system and have seen where some people have installed them on the passenger side frame or between the front tire and bumper. . Most of the installations I have seen involve the BMK-11 single unit. Has anyone installed the BMK-25 on the air horn with the filter ends facing the radiator??? If anyone has a picture their installation other than the BMK-11 I would like to see it or can anyone point me to someone who may have a kit to do this install.

both me and my good friend installed the bmk 25 kits and had problems with oil flow when we would start our trucks and i ended up screwing up my HTT turbo cause of it not being oiled properly on start up. . had to send the turbo to HTT to get it rebuilt. . truck would show no oil pressure for 15 to 30 seconds on start up then it would go up... Amsoil had no fix for it and had both units sent back for the exchange for bmk 15 kits and money back for the rest of the cost. Its up to you what you wanna do but I would return it for the single remote bypass kit BMK 15 and save yourself alot of trouble. . we were not the only ones who had issues with that kit. . Im much happier with the BMK 15 now but if i did it all over again I would go with the FS 2500 bypass kit its just a better quality unit. . Good Luck pal.

BMK-15 is the old dual remote setup, it had worse issues with oil flow at startup... I assume you meant the BMK-21 or BMK-11; probably the -21 as the -11 was superceded when the -25 came out.

As for mounting it to the horn I wouldn't. Thats a lot of weight under there.

I too think you would be happier with a BMK-21, easier to mount and the EaO80 is a great filter, and the dual setup doesn't gain you much.

Thats a dual bypass right? Not a dual remote?

I didn't think you were supposed to weld to a hydroformed frame?

Yes I meant the BMK-21... Much better. .

I use my original filter, and the dual remote. That gives me 3 filters.

Most of my weld is on metal framing that is already welded to the frame at the factory.

IIRC, the Dodge Builders Guide has a description of how to weld to these frames. And as Cumminz noted, they are welded from the factory. If done right, it should pose no issues.

Although a little far for a dual-remote, I mounted my Amsoil and GCF under the passenger front corner of the bed... lots of room to work with.

Well after viewing a lot of pictures of installs of both the BMK-25 and BMK-21 I decided to send the BMK-25 back to Amsoil and I will reorder the BMK-21 when I get back from Arizona in a couple of weeks.
I dont like the idea of my oil units between the frame and side of the truck and I dont like them in between the bumper and front tire. . The BMK-21 lets me keep it in the engine compartment where it is safe from road debris and brush when I am off road.
The BMK-21 is an easier install from what I see.

What about running the oil back through the valve cover with the adapter... Could you end up pushing too much oil too fast and sucking some into the valves????
Let me know your thoughts and thanks to yall for all the good advice and pictures.

I have over 150k with a bypass mounted between the frame and body... never had an issue. If mounted correctly, and you damage the mount, you'll have worse things to worry about... realistically.

I have also ran through a oil filler cap for those miles... not an issue if the mount/filter has a restriction (which it should), and you should be flowing around a quart per minute at hot idle (more/less). Its not a lot of flow. Stant products makes a solid filler cap for our trucks that makes installing the swivel fitting very easy. The mount you are proposing to buy already has the restriction built in.

Good luck with your install... there is a 300+ post thread on this forum about bypass filters and might give you ideas about mounting options. ;)
