I finally deducted that my a/c clutch coil is out. I have not found anywere that you can just replace the clutch and coil but it looks like i need to find a full compressor. This is on an 06, and i have had the coolant drained by a shop so i can remove the compressor. I have not studied the manaul yet but has anyone done this and have suggestions. I know it is suggested to replace the evaporative canister but given the clutch is fine and its only the coil that is out i do not plan to replace that. Does anyone have a suggestion where to order the parts and what all i will need other than just the compressor.

Has anyone seen a place to buy just the clutch coil. My manual states the clutch and clutch coil are servicable. Any one that has done this or knows of a great place to pickup the compressor or coil please let me know.

Have you tried a Dodge dealer for the coil?

Ryan

Yeah they said you can not order just the coil but i see in the service manual it says you can service the coil and clutch seperatly from the compressor. I finally figured all this about about noon on saturday so i am just looking for advice befor i start calling monday morning.

$55 for the coil alone from :

MoparPartz.com

At top left it shows that this fits the 2006 2500 as well as the 1500.

Nick.

Thanks for the suggestion, that coil fits the gas engine vehicles not the diesel. I just called the guys over there and the gas and diesel had two diffrent compressors and clutche coils. From what i found nobody is making the clutch coil as of yet, so i just ordered a whole compressor. Pretty costly just for a $20 coil that is out. Guess i will keep the old compressor until they sell the coils and fix that one some day.

You have a sanden compressor and there are many who make a clutch pack for it. Any AC shop can get the clutch for that compressor. iInstalled in FL it would run you about$100 bucks.
