As far as comparing, say, an '04 to a '10, that's going to be hard to do. Especially the "ride" factor. My new '10 rides better than my '04, but my old truck is old. It's broke in. It's had ball joints and shocks replaced. Etc etc. So, it might be a little better than my old truck, and quite a bit better than my old truck now, but similar when comparing them new. My '04 was a nice ride compared to my '01 that I had before it.
I just bought a '10 today. I like it. As far as answering your question, though, I can't give a good opinion 'cause mine hasn't had time to wear on me. I will say this, 6 hours old and the driver's window auto function doesn't work, and the transmission paddle shift isn't working properly. It also pulls to the right more than it should. I had 80k on my '04 and never had an alignment. Never needed it, and tires never showed unnecessary wear.
