I was at the dealer over the weekend and saw a 2010 2500 that I am just drooling over. VERY NICE. What has anyone experienced on the 4th Gen HDs NOT including the engine? I am very familiar with the 6. 7L CTD, just looking for feedback on the rest of the truck.

I love mine. It's a huge upgrade from my 3rd gen. I liken the difference between the 1st gen and the 2nd gen. The 4th gen body, trim, fit, finish, switches, ergonomics and quietness are a generation ahead of all the others.

I concur...

I love mine also. This is the first Ram Truck for me but I love the inside. We bought it mostly because of the inside features. Many people seem the think the Ford is the gold standard but I gotta say (with two kids) the interior features are the best; like the rear seat, dual channel entertainment with surround sound system. Fantastic fit and finish! You won't regret the purchase.

Awesome truck! The ride is 10 times better then the 3rd gens and as stated the interior is first rate. The Fords and GMs have nothing on the new Ram's. My only issue with them is mpg's and the emissions but that can be taken care of.

Congratulations on your new truck, but how can the ride be better than the 3rd generations?, its the very same frame and suspension, exactly the same as a 2009, maybe they did something else I am not aware of.

Hydramounts and totally re-tuned. Go test-drive one rather than reading our words... .

The frame is the same but the suspension has been changed and the mounts. I think someone give you some wrong data

There nice aren't they. Now if the epa just could get it together and leave the engine manufactures along we would have something.

I had the 04. 5 and this is a major step forward. From the styling and the handling a much more refined truck. It is so quiet inside it's almost like a high end car. I went from a sport slt to a laramie and couldn't be happier. So if you like the 6. 7 and the 6spd trans your gonna love the rest.

As far as comparing, say, an '04 to a '10, that's going to be hard to do. Especially the "ride" factor. My new '10 rides better than my '04, but my old truck is old. It's broke in. It's had ball joints and shocks replaced. Etc etc. So, it might be a little better than my old truck, and quite a bit better than my old truck now, but similar when comparing them new. My '04 was a nice ride compared to my '01 that I had before it.

I just bought a '10 today. I like it. As far as answering your question, though, I can't give a good opinion 'cause mine hasn't had time to wear on me. I will say this, 6 hours old and the driver's window auto function doesn't work, and the transmission paddle shift isn't working properly. It also pulls to the right more than it should. I had 80k on my '04 and never had an alignment. Never needed it, and tires never showed unnecessary wear.
