I need to try to figure out what the widest mud type load range E tire that will fit on my stock wheels, i have a 6. 7 cummins 2007 long bed crewcab 4x4 single rear wheel, I went to the San Antonio 4wheel parts store today and they tried to sell me load range d tires in Micky Thompsons and some Dick Cepecks in load range d as well, I have called 4 tire chains and pickup places and also picked up a copy of 4 wheel and off road and quizzed up the tire chains that advertised in there, I got conflicted info on what is the largest (widest to me) tire that will fit on a 2007 4x4 srw truck, one guy says that i could even run 33x12. 5x17's and they wont rub with the stock wheels and no lift. I have run 285x70x17s on the truck about a year ago but they were a all terain type and got horid mileage. I want to buy the best mud tire out there that will clean out and still get reasonable mileage on the highway driving i do, i rotate tires at 4000 miles and check air presure all the time. Question is what tire is the best bargin and the widest out there right now??? I cant buy from 4 wheel parts due to a 2 1/2 week backlog in the shop to mount tires, I am thinking of just buying the tire online and having them mounted and balanced in my small town. Its a shame Walmart does not sell wider GoodYears, we have a supercenter in my town but al they have is the stock 265's x17 and nothing wider, does anybody know if walmart can order wider tires from Goodyear if one had the size needed?? Thanks in advance!!!!! I called Planet Pickup and they had a load range e tire in a mud grip type tire 4 of them for $1300 mounted and balanced but need a $200 leveling kit to run them, am going by in the morning to look at them. I need the extra ply load range e due to brush torns and rocky road base on the ranches down here i travel on.
