Wingate,
This is going to be one of the longest running and most entertaining threads in the history of TDR.
We didn't have a direct source of information regarding the Sick. Ohh Furds back when they were fairly new and used heavily by folks trying to tow their trailers.
HAHAHAHA... . !!!!!. . Been trying to keep the info. as impartial as possible. . Sometimes, there is some aggrevation with the info... If you've ever had to unload a brand new service truck and try and stuff it all in a wore out, much smaller, retired truck... all while sitting in the back of a dealership lot with my customer calling wondering when I will be on location... etc. . ..... it tends to bring out some stress. But, I have been fortunate, the dealership that I have been using for this truck has been doing a great job. (knock on wood!!) I had actually started using them on my wifes' Jeep GC after the local Dodge dealer left the right rear wheel loose and the air cleaner lid off during a P/M!!.
I have been MUCH more fortunate than the guy driving the other truck. (the one with the new engine) He was forced (by circumstance) to use a dealership that we would never use otherwise. And now, until the new engine issues are resolved, there's not another dealer that would touch it with asbestos gloves and a welding hood!!. . And I don't blame them.
The truck itself is far superior to the GM product that we moved from. The overall quality of the truck is light years ahead. What is sad is the early failures (which I HOPE are just related to early production components) and even worse is the HORRIBLE fuel economy. As much as people don't want to believe, these trucks are only getting 6+ MPG!. I have actually been limiting my idle time to zero, no idle time unless the PTO is engaged and using the crane or compressor. Just came in from making a 350 mile round trip today, it got 6. 5mpg today.
