There Black

Finally got some time to get the caps done. I scotchbrited 2 with Ultra-fine painted one & left one scotchbrited. Ended up liking the black on black.

What do you guys think?

Now that you may have lots of time under you belt with this system, I am curious how the 2. 25" system has treated you. Any updates to be had?

Suspension updates are always good!!! I agree, let's hear them!

I love my Carli 2. 5 Pintop with upper & lower control arms with bump stops. I was talking to a guy who has the Flab Tech 6" setup. He hates it and it's always breaking parts. He has it on a Hemi Truck. He is ditching it for a Diesel and after riding in my truck he already knows it's Carli or Nothing.

jtnm,

I'm looking to improve my '06 OEM suspension, and this thread has been very helpful. I work south of Bloomfield, and if you're willing, I'd like to check out the Lorenz upgrades you've made to your truck. I drive through B'field at least twice a day, and could meet you at Farmers, NAPA, or anywhere that would be convenient to you. If you have the time, please shoot me a pm.

Thanks,

Scott

In the for what it's worth category... I installed a set of Kore coil & rear leaf springs on my 98. 5. I was told they were progressive and would ride like a dream. My 3/4 ton truck now rides like a military 6x6. I was then told they would 'soften up' after the break in period. I've had them for 2 years... exactly how long is the break in period? In the next few months I plan to replace both the control arms and coil springs with something else. . factory if I have too. If someone wants them, give me an offer and they're yours. However I have to tell you, Kore no longer manufacturers the control arms so I cannot guarantee you'll be able to repair/rebuild them. Both have surface rust thanks to winter road salt.

Ditto experience on my '98. 5 and that was with their old coils. The truck would beat me to death off road. Don,Sage and Sean offer much softer riding coils. Carli's supplying Hemi sprung longer coils for the 2nds.

Did you also buy the Kore rear leafs? or keep it stock? I'm debating if I should yank them out and re-install the factory load spring. Thankfully I kept them!!

The truck is nearly 14 years old and showing age from our over salted roads. I don't want to buy a whole other suspension system. Can I simply replace the coils with +2" units, keep the stock hardware/mounts and have a decent riding truck? The closest thing my truck sees to off roading is driving in NYC and NJ. Which might sound like a joke and it sorta is. . but as anyone who has driven there can tell you. . Them roads will test your suspension!!
