At 171820 miles on 5-3-2011, I had installed: a Derale Hyper Extreme remote transmission cooler #15870, 180Deg. thermostat #15721, Winter 180deg. Bypass valve # 25792, Bypass valve mounting brkt. #25792, Parker Push-Lok fittings (8-AN size) & Parker Hi Temp Hose (Blue & Red) for $529. Labor (6. 5Hr. ) ran $568. They (Huckstorf Diesel, Franklin, WI) welded 2 square bars on top of the transfer case skid plate, with tapped holes to mount the cooler out of harms way. The cooler fan is positioned on top & is wired to blow down. A most professional install job.
Without 'scientific' testing data, it appears to improve temperatures at least 10 deg. I chose this hardware because it seemed to be well constructed, and the cooling "fins & tubes" seemed to be well designed for thermal transfer. Derale made no performance tests to evaluate the thermal "efficiency/effectiveness" of their product. This was most disturbing, considering that is the main criteria for a purchase of any cooler. I reported my displeasure at their lack of ability to perform even basic thermal testing for a 'thermal' product. They responded with excuses relating to ". . too many variables. . ". B. S. I thought. I gambled & took my shot at picking the best 'pig in a poke'.
