Well, my last modifications to the truck involved making my own #100 fuel plate, and the transmission with a 190k on it did not like it one bit.

Erik and his extremely capable crew over at Left Coast Diesel in Concord pulled my old transmission, and rebuilt it to Goerend Heavy Duty High Performance Transmission standards, complete with Goerend rebuild kit, triple disk torque converter, billet input shaft etc.

It has transformed the truck. Wow. Oo.

Will drive it for a while and report back after I use up a set of tires. :-laf

That's exactly what I have going in mine. Really looking forward to it, if I ever get it going. Glad you like it.

I've got Goerend setups like this in both of my trucks. The torque converters are as low a stall speed as Goerend makes.

It's an expensive upgrade, but worth every dollar it costs.

After the upgrade, the '96 3500 2WD will get close to 23 MPG empty if I hold 65 MPH on a level road.

Hmm, I didint realize Left Coast did Goerend transmissions, hmmmm this could be bad news for my wallet. When I bought the truck its had a transmission work done but I dont like how it shifts, been looking for a good shop to look at it and advise on improvments, heard great things about Left Coast, Total Performance Diesel is right down the road but heard too many bad stories to go there.

You don't have a purple trans do you??

Mine is not purple. Erik built my transmission in shop with Goerend parts and triple disc converter. Someone ordered these parts for their truck but cancelled the build. I got them instead! Left Coast Diesel has shop trucks with 600-700hp running this transmission.

They are also authorized Goerend installers.

I have a trip to the mountains towing my boat soon. Will report back!

Update... put 70 miles on the truck today. Have been out of town and these are the first miles I've had a chance to drive.

Truck has much more positive shifting up and down while not being too harsh. Shift points are better and in the groove.

Truck leaps up the hill in front of my house! Before it would hunt for a gear, and think about going up the hill.

More reports coming as I put on some miles, and tow.

Life is good... now for a new set of injectors, bigger turbo and some time to tune it all...

All the trucks over at Left Coast Diesel are sporting 600-700-800 and beyond horsepower. I'm very jealous.

Haha, no , no purple on the truck at all.

Glad to hear its workin good Guldam!
