Another key question.

So, when I bought my truck back in June, the dealership only had one key for it. I bought a blank, unprogramed key from my local Dodge dealership, for 90 bucks. My question is, the manual states you need two valid keys to program a third. Can I just skip the second valid key, or fake it out, so I can program the key myself, or is this going to be a trip to the dealer issue?

I don't think you can fake it out. It's a dealer issue. Sorry!

I'd pressure the dealer and make him cough up two more keys. I believe it's the dealer's responsibility to furnish the correct number of keys with every vehicle they sell.

There's the issue. Dealership I bought it from was a used Car dealership in Ozark, Missouri. Not a dodge outfit. I'm thinking I might have to bite the bullet on this one.

I had the same situation. I have one key only. I bought a blank key from dealership and program it myself following the instruction from the owner's manual. No problem.

I didn't know I need two valid keys to program a third one. :-laf

I did mine like six months ago. Failed to program the blank new key until I changed the battery that came with the blank key from the dealership.
