I have a 06 2500 4x4 and I dont have any power at the plug for the left turn or brake I was wandering if I could jump from the left turn to the plug or would that hurt any thing. I tryed to follow the wire and had no power when it went into the cab and couldnt find it from there I cheked all the fueses I coul find any ideas? Thanks Monty Pack.

You need to make a trip to the dealer and have your TIPM reset and s/w updated if it hasn't been. This POS little device controls all of your lighting functions and instead of blowing a fuse, it trips the TIPM which only a dealer can reset. Be careful, it can only be reset a couple of times before it must be replaced ($$$$).
I strongly suggest you check out the TDR classifieds for the TIPM saver.

TIPM = Totally Integrated Power Module. and 06 was the first year to use it (congrats!).
It's a module that takes care of all your lighting functions. You have no fuses for lights, just the TIPM which senses an overload and kills power to that circuit until a dealer resets it for you. After a couple of resets, the TIPM burns itself out and you have to replace it.
One of our TDR members builds a very nice unit that goes in-line before your 7 pin connector and uses a battery input instead of the TIPM for actually powering the trailer lights. It has good old fashioned fuses that work just like they did before such idiotic things as TIPM's existed. However, you'll need to get your TIPM reset before anything.
FWIW, there was a s/w update that allowed your TIPM to supply more current before shutting down. You need to find a dealer that understands what a TIPM is (not easy) and how to reset and update it. Many dealers wrongly just replace it when it doesn't work when they should be resetting your old one.

What is a timp and what is the saver I am toatally ignorant to this?

Thanks Monty Pack

The tipm is the totally integradted power module, in olden days it was called a "fuse box" :-laf.

From 2006 and up Dodge trucks, it replaced the PDC (power distribution center with attached integrated power module) and controils all of the electrical switching on the truck, including trailer lighting functions. It is controlled by the ECM, and it is VERY sensitive to either bad accessory wiring, voltage spikes, or a bad trailer harness. When something shorts it out, it shuts part of itself down and can ONLY be reset or reflashed by a DEALER a small number of times before it needs replacing to the tune of $700 plus labor (I thik that is accurate??)

The TIPM saver was designed by a member here to bypass the trailer lighting functions of the tipm, thus saving the tipm from getting fried or needing to be reflashed if you ever happen to plug in a trailer with faulty wiring.

UNFORTUNATELY, Motorhead (the designer and manufacturer of the "tipm saver" is not making them right now... though he is contact with me about that. I'll update once I hear more from him.

Keep in mind though, even if you get everything fixed up you still have some short in your trailer wiring and you will continue to have problems until that is remedied.
