If anybody thinks the transmissionm is actually getting 800 ft\lbs of TQ on the newer trucks and a G56 will take a constant 900 ft
lbs I have several briges for sale. Cheap. :-laf
The G56 is only rated at a constant 550 ft\lbs, it won't live long under sustained loads. The autos are all under clutched and over managed, but, at least they can be programmed to save themselves. Hence the RFE is the only choice with Max Tow.
Don't get too caught up in the engine ratings marketing game and expect that to be available as installed in the truck. It won't happen with the management systems in place cuz any of the transmissions in the LD trucks would grenade themselves under those conditions.
The power ratings race is the demise of a manual transmission, thats just the physics of the whole thing.
