I noticed that there are a couple of newer TSB's that I just resently found out about. The first one is 14-004-11 Apr 11 Fuel sys HD Mopar Filtration Kit retrofit. Second one is K01 May 10 ECM update for OBD readiness. I called the dealer about them they told me that if I wasn't have an error code I did need to do anything about them. That somehow doesn't make sense to me. What say you good people of TDR?

The fuel filtration upgrade, depending on cost and what it is, may be beneficial. I believe the ecm upgrade has to do with emissions testing, either way no dealer is going to upgrade my ecm. I have refused to take it in for the "not in park horn honking recall", keep receiving letters that state it has not been completed, but I do not want it.

The DMV in Cali require the ko1 to be performed to register your truck. It only applies to Cali trucks

Improved filtration is always a good thing on the ctd's but there are many options in that department

Sounds like your dealer is clueless

You correct on that point! And I spoke to two different dealers. The ECM update would make sense since I purchased the truck in Calif. but I am not there and do not intend to go back there! The dealer thinks that it would be good idea to have the ECM flashed anyway, and I have been told that it should be done periodically. The cost for the flashing is $110, but they are the only ones that can do it. Is there anyway to find out what the Filtration Kit is that they are talking about?

Did it make it run better? :)

That is right if your smarty software is newer than the k01 recall it has the updates in it. I have tested the update, you can on fact load any borrowed smarty at any level, return it to stock (um Von lock) and the latest software is

There. the update is only to allow the smog machine to see the monitors have run

The Ko1 is free!!!!!! It is a recall if they give you any flack call the 1 800 number in your owners manual, they will dump some neede heat on your dealer.

That is good, but it would cost more to buy the Smarty then to have it flashed.

True, except you would end up with a tool that would read and clear codes, let you re-size tires, remove the speed limiter, remove the rpm limiter, adjust timing, adjust low rpm fueling, adjust rail pressure, remove the shift de-fuel if you have an auto, and you could help your fellow dodge/cummins cr owners read clear codes.

Plus, all the upgrades are free thus far, as long as you have internet access. It is a win win as far as I can see.

ACerf, You cannot go wrong purchasing a Smarty!

I am not sure I could get the dealer in Arizona or South Dakota do the K01 for free since I am not there. And would it have any benefit since I am not get a smog checks?

Okay, It does sound good. I will look into it. :)

Spoke to dealer again about the TSB issues. He told me that the K01 ECM recall was done on my truck. He did say that it would be a good idea to have a DRB scan done on the truck. . I have no idea what that is! He claims that the DRB goes into the PCM and other computer systems deeper then the normal scan. Does anyone have any knowledge of this?

Save your money,if your truck is working good,no Dtc's there in no need to do any scanning. On the other hand if you want to check out what everything is doing real time,go for it

I am still having the problem with the trucks RPM going from cruise speed to idle when the cruise control is on, happens now and then. Thought it was the Edge EZ but that turned out not to be the problem. It never throws a code and I thought maybe doing the DRB scan would correct the problem, or at least see the problem. I can't get anyone to tell why the truck does that. I remember you talking to me about it as well.
