Wow. "Raw" fuel plus additives were mostly pretty dismal, or neutral.

... . I wonder, however, a couple of things: consistency of pump-fuel's additive doses, and whether the off-the-shelf additives do, or do not, give similar reductions (or increases! ) in testing-wear, compared to the raw fuel testing.

In pharmacy, sometimes we see additive drug interactions that could be described as 1+1=3, or interfering interactions where 1-1=less than zero.

Could some of the same apply to possible interactions between refinery-added additives plus owner-added additives? Might be worth another series of samples, but this time using 3-4 brands of commonly available "pump" fuels.

It looks like good old Bio-Diesel as an additive works the best other than the quantity needed per tank. The Walmart two stroke oil does pretty good for the price.

I want know what the power output of the blends were, ie: btu.

Would adding 2% bio change power output and mileage?

JKosten if your using Chevron Diesel your getting up 5% now in calif!!!!

The info in the first post has been around for quite some time. I used it to decide what additive that I would use and somehow they didn't deem it necessary to add it to the list. Before he says it IT'S ALL SNAKE OIL ANYWAY AND HE WOULDNT LITE HIS TRASH PILE WITH THE STUFF. YA DE YA DE YA DE YA

OH NO your wrong just ask him. Before I stopped hauling fuel I did mostly commercial accounts. And there are more trucking companies that use additives than ones that dont. A person would have to be pretty naive to believe that they dont. After all the lube companies are only making money off the snake oil believers? they might go broke doing that dont ya think. So there must be a bunch that use it. JMO I use it religiously and I guess that im throwing my money down and out the exhaust pipe but its my money and with over 100 k on my truck now I have had no problems with the fuel system other than the chippy OEM fuel pump at 48K.

hahaha ya your right, were all fools, after all Im sure Cummins spent millions on R&D to test every fuel additive out there instead of saying to just not run any to error on the side of caution. Im not gonna defend any claims of 50MPG, 5000HP gains and a sudden wealth with additives but its pretty hard to argue that added lubrication will have a negative affect. Seems like most people with fuel issues drive 12k or so a year, while long haulers with high fuel turnover dont have fuel system issues untill much higher mileage, just an observation on my part.

All I can say to that report is I use Power Services all the time.

Got 375k miles with the orginal CP3 and injectors.

"""knock on wood"""

I use Amalgamated and find that I HAVE MORE HORSE POWER THAN A LOCAMOTIVE MY TRUCK CAN PULL EVERSET IN OVERDRIVE PULLING 90k. I CANT KEEP A SET OF TIRES ON THE RIMS BECAUSE THE RIMS ARE SPINNING IN NUTRUAL AND A HOST OF OTHER TOTALY UNBELEVIABLE ASTOUNDING ACCOMPLISHMENTS THAT I DARE NOT LIST. AND I DO GET 60 MILES PER GALLON:-laf AT 85 MILES PER HOUR:-laf I do run amalgamated and love the stuff

When I was in Oregon the diesel pumps plainly stated 5% biodiesel. I'm not seeing anything on the Chevron pumps here stating that.

My lie-o-meter goes up about 1/2 mpg w/ Amalgamated. I haven't experienced that with Power Service,Stanadyne or Redline

I contacted my buddy that still runs fuel is So Calif. He said as of now it is fuel that is from an Chevron Rack and at the Refinery. So if the fuel came from there its got 5 percent. Now if the fuel is from a another rack that is not Chevron it wont have the bio. I called another guy that I know that works and runs the rack in Colton Ca for Kinder Morgan and asked about it. He said that they are setting up the rack to inject bio and have cleaned out a storage tank to house it in all of cal is going bio by 2014 from what he said. Also Ca is going to 15 percent ethanol in gas as soon as the racks can be made to inject that much. They have 2in pluming now and need 4 in to do it.

Now back to the Amalgamated I dont know about anything that it has done for my trucks other than make it QUIET. I dint buy for stump pulling power fuel mileage that is totally off the chart. I like it I use it I buy it thats all that should matter. Its good to see that you do get that little extra for your buck. Keep an eye out for the Bio, My question is when mandatory at 5 percent if one should add anything else? I run Bio in the summer up in MT and it works just fine but winter turns it into a tank full of JELLO so I just use Amalgamated winter blend and reg diesel.

Your in SD your fuel is coming from a Kinder Morgan rack off of Friars Rd by the stadium it wont have the bio YET

South Davis Chevron - Davis Wiki

More commonly known as the Fast and Easy Chevron. ... They now offer E85 ethanol and B5 bio-diesel which is a mixture of 5% bio-diesel and 95% petroleum ...

So where do you buy Amalgamated TDR-S additive??

I have been using Amalgamated TDR-S for years.

They ship in either quarts or 2. 5g jugs. Cheaper to buy the 2. 5 gallons, but IMHO it is better to buy the smaller quantities if you will not be able to use it up within 2 years. Ratio is 1g TDR-S: 420g diesel.

I add it to my farm tank on fill-up twice a year.

Contact Randy at Amalgamated directly--

I ordered mine from Randy. They didn't take credit cards so a money order or check was the only way they did business. :) I asked him if a bankcheck would be better and he replied "No, a personal check will be fine. I've never been burned by you guys yet" Pretty cool.
