Well, I've always got my nose in the wind... . no foaming or glazing, yet..... but frost hasn't hit yet!!! Give me a few weeks!! My wife will kick me out when I start rubbing my head on the bed post in the middle of the night, and then it's on like Donkey-Kong for a few months!!! I'm actually going to get some time to hunt this year, it looks like!! :hellyeah: Oo. It starts Labor day for a few birds on the wing, then goes to Muley's on Oct 27!! I didn't draw a tag, but I'm invited to track and run!!! Gotta plant some bait, errrr, ah, I mean wheat for the cows, and then the hogs will be moving in. Hopefully some rain, and I'll be done planting by the middle of September..... Oh, yeah!!

Sounds like a plan our Camp is set up and Jason my nephew is home until the season starts. Im going to stay in camp this year and stay off the trail so much ,first week of hunting is fun time all are friends or family (same thing around our place) guiding them will be fun. Then the real work starts guiding the morons that hopefully can shoot without having to chase the game over mountain passes. And the endless dribble about this and that sometimes I feel like a bobble head doll just smile and shake your head around after all THEY ARE PAYING FOR THIS. :-laf

I get D-14 every year in Ca. I apply out of state but didn't get anything. Most likely next year I will get some good tags. I will try to go to northern Ca and hunt bear.

D-14???? San Bernardino Mountains? We use to ride our horses up there stay at Hart bar Equestrian Campground. Lots of deer around fish creek ,coon creek jump off area. Tried N Ca a few times for Black Tail THATS SOME TOUGH hunting pretty thick woods in the B Zones, unlimited tags thou.

Ya I wish Ca would cut back on the amount of tags in all Zones. In D-14 they give out 3000 tags. A buck up there is a old timer if he sees 3!

Well the hunt and being outside is fun but a nice buck would be fun to. Im surprised that they haven't up the cost of the tags and Lic. to help Jerry off set the budget. When we lived in Ca I put in for the X zones and NEVER GOT THEM it didn't matter much because we went to MT to hunt but it would have been nice to get just 1 have seen some nice bucks in the X zones

Dont usually shoot anything that I dont eat (sheep) unless its bothering something or someone (me) Elk Is not a problem along with deer MT has its share of both.

Seen a few going in besides my Nephew's yesterday JUST GET"S ME all fired up to go. We will be going in the next few Nephew took some STRING HUNTERS yesterday THEY NEED THEIR SILENT TIME in the woods to do their thing. They left from our place to go they wanted to try their bows out and asked what bow I used I brought out my BAZZOKA and they dont like the noise but they cant hit what it can at 600+ yards plus. :-laf

I know how ya feel Mr CBari we lost a dog to a pack of coyotes! revenge was mine. Dog just couldn't get thru his head they are not a bunch of dogs running loose saved his butt a few times but just wanted to play with them. Hope no young ones had to see that

No just my wife and I sad part is my dog doesn't fight. She was old and going blind and the pack was just coming through probably chasing deer and saw her and never let up till my wife ran them off. Revenge will happen when the time is right.
