Hello out their

Hi Steve,
One question for you, what happened to the pictures that we had on our post that we uploaded? I forget the exact term that it was called, but if you made a post, there was a link by your name to view the pictures. Is it gone for good? or is it still in our profiles somewhere and I'm just not seeing it?
Great work by the way, I appreaciate the effort that people put in on behalf of others.

They are still there I just don't have the link working under the username yet - click on site features up top and go to photo gallery and you'll find those pics - or click here https://www.turbodieselregister.com/photopost/ . It's on my list of things to do but I'm trying to fry some bigger fish first.

The "Forum Tools" for the 2nd Generation: General does not work right. When I click on it the drop down mingles with whatever is below it. If I try to click on something, it gives me the link below the tools (person's name in top thread).

Steve, I can't un-subscribe to a thread. I was trying to un-subscribe to this thread and this is what I get:
An invalid threadid or forumid was specified.

Okay, call me anal, but I'm a sys admin so my antivirus checks everything and today when I first when to forum here, my antivirus alerted me to the following:

20120905 040500 Blocked web request to "adsrewardsinc.com/XrstX/banners/b_cedebb6e872f539bef8c3f919874e9d7" (linked from "www.turbodieselregister.com") for user . 'Mal/HTMLGen-A' has been found at this website, reference ID 110143144.

So there's an ad linked on the site that links to a virus. It would greatly appreciated if this banner and offending site was removed from being linked to the TDR.

thanks
Craig

I've searched all of our ads and none of our ads are linking there unless it's through flash. I did a malware scan via sucuri and the site comes up clean. I also looked at adsrewardsinc.com through google and they list it as a safe site. If you get it again could you please make note of any ads you see on the screen and let me know what they are and I can investigate further. It's remotely possible that this was from a google ad which are served up straight from Google and will be more difficult to track down.

Steve,
I use Sophos Anti Virus with the Web Protection enabled. This happened twice yesterday evening when I went to the new posts link under Forums. What happens is that Sophos will block that image from loading and then I don't see the ad, but get a balloon message that it was blocked. The way I understand it is that the site that an image comes from is being blocked because the site is in the Sophos Blacklist for viruses having been found on it regardless of if the actual image displayed on a site is actually infected, in this case the offending site is adsrewardsinc.com must be on Sophos blacklist. So quite possibly, it's being linked in a flash and the site was previously infected but now isn't but still is on the blacklist with my antivirus.

Off topic but somewhat important - is there a way to change the default color of links back to the previous "bright blue"? The forum software seems to default them to a dark blue that I have trouble picking out amongst the black test - easy to miss links in the post responses.

Mike asked this question, which I've also noticed to be a bit of a problem recognizing external hyperlinks as well. Didn't search to see if it'd been addressed before.

When I comment or edit one of my comments I have problems getting the cursor to go where i want it, the arrow buttons don't work at all. Is that on my end? bg

Not sure but I haven't heard that from anyone else. Try this - when you click on edit post you'll see a go advanced button there - that will take you to the full edit screen. See if you have any problems there.

I hate the pop ups balloons that come up no matter where the pointer is on for any given line when I mouse over thread links on the "View new posts" page. In the old forum, it would only pop up when you moused over the link to the thread from the "view new posts". I find myself using this forum less then before the upgrade because I don't care for the interface. Do we have the option to change how it looks and disable the pop up balloons?

There you go - now you have to point right at the thread title for the popup to appear. There isn't a way for each individual user to disable or enable the popups.

Can you pick out some other colors for the backgrounds for the headers? Dark blue text on a blue gray background is very hard to read for old eyes.

Thanks

Mike
