NOT saying that a poll is a bad idea, but I can tell you right now there have NOT been that many failures of them, and certainly not an "epidemic". . in fact, yours are the first I have read about in YEARS.

Hence the question I asked about ULSD Fuel causing internal damage to the pump.
If that is the case you may start to see many more posts about CP3 failures.
As I mentiond before a CP3 Guru's advise would be helpfull here as to if damage is occuring from ULSD fuel and if lubricity additives need to be used in these trucks now.
I am already using an additive and still had a problem.

I do not think Ulsd has been a cause for failure but is more likely by water and other contaminates not caught by filters

ULSD has been run twice as long in the CR engines than LSD, there would have been many more failures in the last 7 years than have happened.

Additives for cetane and lube have proven to extend the life of the fue system, as does filtration. If one is still running OE filters then fuel quality is a big component. Like I said previously, examine your fuel supplier carefully for these early failures. May not resolve anything but doesn't hurt to try.

Good to know about minimal number of catastrophic failures on this part but, locally I recently learned of another one. Maybe it's the beginning of a problem worth noting whether poll or otherwise.

I think your starting to make a case for a regional fuel problem. Your fuel source\supplier may be your problem.

I have an 07 with the high output CP3 pump and my pump went out ,My truck still ran, there was just a little hesitation when i romped on it is all, other than that it ran fine, I did replace it with the Airdog 150 though

255k on my original cp3.
my truck had the in tank lift pump conversion before i swapped in the raptor 100 and only has the oem filter.

Same pump, PN 68027022AC fits 7 years of trucks. Average weekly demand of 6 for the nation. I think you can put to rest the poll. Just like I have always said, CP3 pumps don't fail. The only reason they do is the leak from the seal surface in the center, or water contamination.

Howdy neighbor. Sorry to hear about your problem. Bill i am up on BunkerHill and prob get fuel at the same places you do. We will have to compare notes. So far no problems for me but i only have 44000 on my 05. Btw what dealer did you uses?
