Don't tow in park!!!

Reasonable Rate for hauling/shipping a truck cab?

Was looking at the other thread "show your rig" and noticed most of the guys either had the 68rfe or manual trans . Maybe convert to manual trans would be the cheapest way to go. Mr. Smarty has a program to load into the computer that's the biggest hurdle. What say you?

P-bar

I had a 2001 Ram 2500 and had towed my 36' 5th toyhauler for years. . I had a manual transmission and had to rebuild it and have 2 clutches. I had to upgrade my suspension to handle the weight and boost the power and spent lots of money to build up the truck. .

I now have a 2009 Ram 3500 Single rear wheel and other than getting 19. 5" . . "G" tires. 225/70R-19. 5" and Aluminum Rims, This truck is stock. I have the single rear tire which means I don't have the 4:10. . The 6 Speed 68RFE is a great transmission and the 6. 7 Cummins is 300 hp and 600 torque. . The new ones are 350 Hp and 800 torque.
I'd say go get a new or end of year truck and have fun.

You don't have to have a DRW or even a 3500 to get 4. 10's, it's an option on any 6. 7 auto.

The 2009 was rated at 350/650.

Looks like I am going to have Mike @Inglewood transmission massage this transmission full rebuild, billet input shaft , trick valve body, triple disk converter, switch to lock torque converter for future e-brake, hook up auxilary cooler. Them I will finally get to turn up the smarty. Thanks for everyone's input will let you know how it works. P. S. the manual route was a thought just too much down time.

Picking up my truck tomorrow from the trans shop . Very excited about all the Goerend components that Mike added to the trans . Mike says I can turn up the juice on the smarty now. Will update you after the drive home tomorrow . Thanks all

If your experience turns out anything like mine when I drove home from DTT... All smiles, I could hardly wait to get off the hiway, so I could feel the new shift's, enjoy.

Well picked up the truck and had a great conversation with Mike . Here's what he did all Goerend components torque converter, valvebody, billet input shaft, deep dish pan. Shifts are firmer 1-2 hunt gone , he ran me up a wire so i can manually lock up the torque converter, punched out the check valve for more fluid flow. Will be towing my 14k fiver next weekend will update you then. Bob 4X4 thanks for the great referral

Lol. Banks has settled it. They have posted flow rates on their site. Btw a new bigger prototype will be on my truck next week to supersede the Banks results and no cnc work will be needed

You will need that extra large heat sink to keep that motor warm in the winter months. :-laf would like to see some pics when installed

Ya wish I had the 4wd for that . What year is yours? I can't sem to find any data how many gallon the holding tanks are . Water is 90 gal

Hello p-bar, I think the following is correct, fresh water 75 gal, black water 45gal same for waste or grey water,I will be back in our carraige Jan. 15 for the rest of the winter,if I can help let me know!

Just locking up the torque converter will lower heat a lot. Don't let the transmission run very long without lockup, it helps a lot on pulling up mountains and getting down them without wearing out the brakes... . ;)
