I have a tick like a loose rocker and it seems to be herd the best at between1400 and 2000 rpms! Does anyone else have this problem!! The truck is running fine and has no miss or power lost when its running!! The truck just turned 28,850 miles. Does anyone have this noise like me please let me no!!!! THANKS BEN... . 6. 7, 6 speed auto, silver megacab dually!!! AFE MEGACANNON, MP-8, & ISSPRO GAUGES...

Has your oil been climbing the dipstick? I was just thinking that maybe your oil is being diluted with fuel to the point that the viscosity has dropped hence the ticking.

No the oil hasent climbed the stick. I read alot about the motor making oil. Some pepole say it might be the pump timming! I dont no forsure! have to see!!

I had a ticking noise and it ended up being a broken valve spring. The only reason I found out what it was is because I had to change the head gasket. If I were you I would take off all of the valve covers and check the valvetrain... It's worth a check.

Just a thought and observation on my 5. 9. I ran the EGT wire along the fire wall with tiewraps. The stainless braided probe wire transfered a tappet like noise into the cab... ... ..... Went away after I insulated the tiewrap connection points.

When an injector "sticks" in a 6. 7L it doesn't make the same knocking noise as a 5. 9L... . In my experience it sounds more like a loud "clack" type noise... sooo.....

The op's truck is modified. Valves out of adjustment are not normally heard above the normal engine noises and at the rpm mentioned could very well be too much timing
