Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) fuel pressure gauge question

Hi, I was about to order an isspro fuel pressure gauge from genos, but wasnt sure if it came with a sender? I had a westach in my old truck which came with one and it states it on the website, but looking at the price of the westach electric gauge vs. the isspro ev2 gauge is almost $100 cheaper, doesnt say anything about a sender being included, only all the wiring harness. Could just wait til monday to call and see whats up. Also, the mounting of this is different from on the 99, I was planning on ordering the vulcan fuel pressure line and attaching it to the inlet of the VP and from there my sender. Is this all I need to do to make this work?

The Isspro gauge does indeed come with a sending unit.



For the long-term health of the sending unit, you'll want to install a "snubber" in line between the sending unit and the VP44. This is because the VP44 generates rapid high pressure pulses which tend wear out an electric sending unit over time.

Ok, thanks, I will order that. My boost and pyro gauges are isspro so this will match. As far as the snubber goes, will the Vulcan universal fit fuel pressure line that is in genos catalog work as a snubber?

No. You need a separate snubber installed between the Vulcan hose and the sending unit. Geno's sells an inexpensive snubber HERE.

Ok, I got the isspro fuel pressure gauge along with vulcan big line kit from filter to VP and the universal hose that I attached to the snubber then to the sender unit, thats was no big deal. I didnt wire something up right though. Where is the correct location for the red(ignition) and orange(light dimmer) wires?

Where is the correct location for the red(ignition) and orange(light dimmer) wires?

A convenient place to supply power to these leads is the Junction Block (a. k. a. Fuse Box) located on the left side of the instrument panel facing the driver's door.



For the red ignition wire, tap into any fuse which is "hot" when the ignition key is in the RUN or START position. Fuse numbers 9, 10, 11, 17, or 19 should work.



For the orange light dimmer wire, tap into fuse number 5 (Dimmer Switch Signal).



A blade fuse tap works nicely for this application:

Ideally you want to tap into the side of the blade fuse which does NOT have power when the fuse is removed. This will insure the blade fuse is protecting the circuit to your Isspro gauges.
