Has anyone used or installed spin free hubs from Yukon Gear Axle? My 2006 3500 4x4 has a small wet spot that just started. Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated. And does anyone have experience with this company and their hubs ?:confused::confused:

It leaks by the unit bearing . I don't have any kind of diagram to see the actual part name . But I was just curious if anyone had experience with Yukon front end locking hubs , because I'm planning on making the switch to manual locking hubs; and Yukon is offering a good deal on their hubs .

So, I think I know what you are saying now... you still have the original pieces and they are starting to leak now. You are asking about the quality of the Yukon parts to replace original parts. That makes more sense.
I don't know about Yukons, but my Spyntek shorty hubs are in transit to my shop as we speak!! They go for $1550 and they are about flush with the hubcap on a non-dually front end.

Yes, if you're saying the original type unit bearings are weeping, and you're looking to do a hubectomy, then yes, it needs to be done ASAP. I'm sure some Yukon owners here will jump in soon. I myself put the original Spyntecs in almost a year ago. Right after I got mine, they came out with the shorty kit MChrist speaks of. I have no regrets.

Good Luck with the swap. If you're doing it yourself, there's lots of info to see here on a search.

There is really nothing in the unit bearings that can leak. You could have a leaky axle shaft seal. Now would be the time to change it (both, actually), but you have to remove the gear carrier to access the seals, they are on the inside end of the axle tubes.

I will be ordering a set of the Yukon's in a week or two, or are they offering a sale right now?

My dad has them and they look like a good kit. For me it came down to the spyntec's or the Yukon's and I like the design of the Yukon lockout hub better.

Go with the Yukons, easy install, nice lockouts! Are you saying fluid is coming out of the axle tube? If so... I would check your fluid level, lube shops and others dont know not to fill em til it comes out, should be atleast 1/2" below fill plug.

Which ever free spin hubs you use, in my opinion, that is one of the best mods to your truck. I have had hubs on mine for over 30,000 mi. LOVE'em

The Name is Motorhead..... I am not throwing insults here! I just replied that free spin hubs... even your gold shiny (spelled correctly by the way) ones  are one of the better mods a guy can do to their truck.
