Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Freeze-out plugs Cylinder head

Greetings from... Pennsyvania. Made it over, no problems. I still not have had time to open all of the boxes from Geno's (Thanks Robin!) and Rock Auto. Anyway...

Seems the HO and Standard Cummins have different feeze out plugs in the head. At my local Car-Quest, I ordered the 1¨ (14 of them) in brass. the 5/16¨ are only available from Dorman in steel.

Can anyone give me the diametres for the following part numbers? (Or Dorman numbers?)

The above numbers are for a 2001 NON-HO Manual Trans application-what I need are either tthe sizes, or the Dorman numbers- I am running up to a local diesel shop today to see what I can find out in the meantime. Whatever I find out I will post.

This is kind of urgent, since I am only here until 5 April, after which I will be back ,on-duty' in Germany. Thanks again.

Do you have either the VIN or ESN handy??? I'll look in Cummins and see if they list sizes. I would rather not do a random search where the right part really counts in your case.

Hi, thanks. ESN would be hard as the truck is still over there, and I never wrote it down... VIN is over there too, but a call away... 387KC23641G762630, second digit might be a ,B'... thanks... Jonathan

Thanks, it looks a bit different than the Chrysler Parts pages I posted earlier... not as complicated. I was running around today with Father... saw the progress on the restoration of Edward Green's 1931 Lincoln (son of Hetty Green) Then up to another garage where he was rebuilding a Brockway trans...
