I have a question my truck has a build date of 7 98 so what year is it the owners manual that with the truck says its for a 98 and info for both the 12 valve and 24 valve engine .
Thanks Shaun
Thanks Shaun
Dodge does body changes on the model year and engine/drivetrain on the half year. Dodge gets an extra "all new" marketing bump every year. Plus it messes up jobbers since their parts system can't handle split years. Plus Dodge can run down their inventory before changing over to the new parts. That's why the dealer wants a VIN when ordering parts.Officially there is no 98. 5, Dodge enthusiasts came up with that to distinguish between the 12 & 24 valve engines.
