Great Scot! Gary, you've started what should be a thread unto itself. If I had to recommend some time well spent it would be the Bourbon Tour in Kentucky. I suppose it would be considered an act of braggadocio for me to go further than to say that I have several favorites and only if encouraged (and that's not really necessary) will I reveal a connoisseur's pick.

A bit of Rebel Yell on the rocks is a fitting sip on a budget. If its my birthday, Bullett or 1792 are both pretty good choices. Tried some Buffalo Trace, not bad.

Need BBQ smoked ASAP! Got the Hickory, need the chance to use it.

Old Forester, 10 yr. old Evan Williams, and George Dickel #12 are frequently enjoyed. Four Roses' Small Batch is perhaps my favorite when I can locate it. I normally have to buy it in Nashville at Frugal MacDoogal's when passing through.

BIG must be out roaming around and shopping cause he's missing one heck of a thread. Holy Cow! BIG, go visit Frugal MacDoogal's! That's right, they're open late.

Gary, my day is 'ruint'. All I can think about is getting some smoke rolling out of my Texas Smoker that came all the way from Uvalde, TX. My Celtic passions are taking control of me!

When I leave here, that's something I'll miss. When I was in east Tn, there was good eats. And moonshine! When in Columbia sc, I was brought to a real outdoor BBQ pit. Got an education on all the BBQ sauces.

I thought Memphis is where the real good BBQ was.

I've not gone anyplace!!! went to dinner last night and looked real hard at the oink again, but went with a combo plate for 2 it was a Whole Smoked Chicken, half a rack of Pork ribs WET!!! ( Shower included AFTER dinner no napkins allowed :-laf ) 4 beef ribs that must have came from some beast from a Jurassic Park Dinosaur (they were the best beef ribs hands down) and two slabs of BBQ,Smoked Catfish!! Smoked beans, slaw, and Sweet tea, skillet made cornbread.

Call the Paramedics and make sure they bring a defibrillator!!!! What an awesome meal that was.

After dinner we went into a nightclub to rest up a bit before singing, Im a Bourbon drinker myself, I like the Jim Beam Black, and the bar keep asked if I had ever tried Angels Envy I took a shot or two OK!!! maybe 3, before we did our thing, smooooooooooth is not even close to the explanation of this divine drink

I told Penny that we have to leave this place no later than Saturday AM, if not I will be a 3K drunk!!! with a pocket defibrillator


Going out again tonight, have to figure something out, I JUST DON'T KNOW HOW LONG MY CAST-IRON COLON WILL LAST!!! :-laf

Santa brought me a couple of bottles of it for Christmas. I really enjoyed it. I'm still partial to the original White Label Jim Beam, but I think the Devil's Cut is excellent.

I got started on the original Jim Beam in the military, then learned that Uncle Jimmy was going to win every fight that he and I had, So I slowed down and went to the Bonded Beam a little better on the pallet, Most of the guy's that go hunting with us give me Christmas presents, this year a surprise was the Johnny Walker Blue label its a blended scotch whiskey but still VERY NICE!!!!

Have some Pard's that are from Kentucky that we belong to a website for Mountain Men. They came out hunting a year past, those boys and girls do some serious drinking!! they make their own shine and brought out several flavors with them when they came. Didn't care to much for the Peach but the nut and berry flavored ones were fantastic drinks, Just had to watch if someone next to ya was smoking at the time you exhaled you could loose some eyebrow.

Wayne, I can sure appreciate just getting behind the wheel. Jennifer and I almost every weekend take off and go somewhere to eat, look and just spend time together.

This was a nice drive 1900 miles, 1 truck fill up, 6 cups of coffee, 2 breakfasts, 1 lunch and 30.5 hours!!! And a REALLY big bag of Pistachios

Penny and I do the same year round. West Glacier is only 100 miles so we leave a little early and have breakfast and go hiking or Cross country skiing in the park. About the only time we can sneak out by ourselves. Even then there is ALWAYS someone with the same idea as us.

That's absolutely beautiful country! We hope soon to be able to make a trip out West and that area is on our 'bucket list'. And, I hasten to add, it won't be done in 30.5 hours. LOL

He was heading back to the restaurant to see if he could whip one up, I wrote the description dwon for him.

They were in the process of redoing the menu and had some temporary ones. Nolansville is a little south of Nashville, we went back, I couldn't resist I had the same thing again, IT WAS WONDERFUL!!

I quit driving like that long ago, I had something on my mind and the time just flew by it seemed, Penny and I came to an agreement that when we travel for pleasure we take from BOTH of our desires.

I like to get up early have a good breakfast and get started, by early im talking (depending on distance traveled) 1AM.
Penny lives with that, she lays the seat back and nods off again while I put the headphones on and listen to music.

Her desire is I HAVE TO STOP and let her Pee, in a clean place if we weren't pulling our TT, and when it was getting close to her limit on travel in the truck, when she said she has had enough, THAT'S IT!! its time to find a place to pull over

Our travel days when on vacation pulling the TT from Calif to West Glacier MT were someplace around 15 to 18 hours for the day, that would put us someplace in ID around Idaho Falls ID, I never did drive fast pulling the TT its called an RV for a reason, we stopped for a roadside lunch (that Penny made in the TT) leg stenches, view points, COFFEE!!!! and of course HER desire of travel.


When we travel for time she says she needs to find a place for her desire!!!! I once handed her a Zip lock Freezer bag and gave her a shes pretty amazing!!! she can hold it for a VERY LONG time, but I get an ear full until I do pull over #@$%!
