Just a word to those with Jacobs e-brakes that are considering an AirDog Preporator. The Air Dog is designed to by-pass the stock filter cannister and connect directly to the injection pump... ... . BUT, the belt driven vacuum pump for the brake sits directly above the pump connection and there isn't enough clearence to connect to the pump. Oops !

I contacted TDR member Roger rodbolt and he told me that Eskam did make an adapter to route the fuel line through the stock filter. He gave me the name and # of the person at Eskam who could help me. Thanks Larry ! At Eskam, Kenny helped me, got the part on the Brown truck and I had it the next day Oo.

So if you have the Jacobs e-brake and go to order an AirDog don't forget to ASK for the fitting to run the fuel line through the filter.

As far as the Fuel Preporator goes, it is a nice unit. Well engineered and built, the kit is very complete and installation is simple. Oh yeah, customer service is top drawer also.

When i was running my air dog, and the jacobs EH, i just put an electric vacuum pump on it and ran the air dog fitting, did away with the mounted vacuum pump

The AD is not designed to bypass the stock filter housing, it does nothing to facilitate using or not using the stock filter housing. The installer is the only one repsonsible for that miscue. Plumb the AD thru the stock filter and housing for best effect.

In my installation instructions it specifically says that airdog reccomends bypassing the stock filter housing. Where can I get more info on an electric vacuum pump?

bought mine off ebay, went to the medical supplies dept. and bought a Thomas vacuum pump, paid 60.00 for it, it's the intake side of an air compressor, been using it on my jacobs brake for 6 years, Monte

There is no reason to bypass the OEM filter housing. one more chance at filtering the fuel, not to mention a pretty darn good water seperator. Do your truck a favor and run through it. ;)

I have my AD setup to go through the stock canister. Even though the AD setup filters to 2 micron and the stock canister to 7, its still another chance of water separation. I would run it through the stock canister

Recommends is a far cry from mandates, instructions can and are wrong. You do not need another pump unless you want to get rid of the problematic Jacobs unit. Regardless, the fuel flow should be plumbed thru the stock filter housing unless it is a race vehicle. You lose nothing, gain much.

Just have to search for a vacuum pump that is electric and adequate.

Since everyone says I should run it through the stock filter housing, can someone explain to me where the fuel supply line goes after the banjo fitting? I can't find the end of it and have no idea why it goes further than the inlet to the filter housing. It is possible that I'm wrong about which line is the supply. Any help would be appreciated.

Supply IN fitting for the filter houisng is high on the back side of the housing. The OUT fitting is on the bootm of the filter housing. If you are not running a 3 um filter infront of the CP-3 just run new line to the back of the OE filter housing from the AD. The stock line will handle quite a bit with good pressure.

That was my original plan but not knowing what is happening with or where the supply line goes after the banjo fitting at the top of the filter housing I am hesitant to go that route because I would rather not spray fuel all over my driveway.
