Some how or other......I think my lowly Tradesman w/385*850 will do just fine for quite a while. The only thing I'm concerned the most with is longevity and making sure it's not in the repair shop often. Cummins offers just that.

More power = more torque limiting~~~~~~

What ram should do is produce a non commercial version of the 4500 and 5500 as pickup trucks and turn the power loose in trucks with bigger diffs, brakes, drive lines etc.

The question is now much torque limiting has Ford done to protect their inhouse transmission.

When I bought my '13 I knew the HP race would continue, but didn't care to wait more. I wonder if Cummins and Ram are deliberately goading the others to keep raising their engine's ratings until they blow up on the way home from the dealership. We know the Cummins can safely use the power it is rated for, and we know the others are already marginal.

I imagine the advertised peak horsepower and torque rating is only achieved for a few seconds under one particular set of conditions just for bragging/advertising hype purposes. The rest of the time it is "torque managed" to much lower ratings in order for it and the rest of the powertrain to live.
