Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Transmition fluid (manual)

I was wondering the best transmission fluid to use on my 1997 dodge ram 2500 cummins 5 speed. It has a NV4500 transmission in it. I have seen lots of different fluid but I wanted to know the highest recommended for that specific transmission. Thanks.

For what it's worth, Royal Purple is what has been run in mine for more than a decade. I have 225,000 on the original, never rebuilt and no fifth gear issues, nv4500. I have an 11,000 pound fifth wheel that we tow multiple times per year.

I use this too. One thing I don't like is it's tough to shift into reverse when it is very cold out.
