Does anyone have the part# for the oil seal between the vacum pump and PS pump for a 2000 24v? I know there are kits made but somewhere I use to just have the part# for just the double lip seal and I would get them at NAPA. I have done several of the seals on different trucks so I really don't need the kit. Just need the seal.

I can understand not wanting to spend $32 for the Gould kit, but is $11 for the Cummins kit that much more than a single seal? Do you re-use the mounting gasket? Cummins # is 4089742

It's been several years since I've done the repair. And at the time I don't remember there being a kit. It was just a seal that I would buy from NAPA. even then it was still hit or miss if the new seal would work. I remember someone posting a part# for a double lip seal and I would. There is enough room that you can actually use 2 seals. So I would always replace it with two double lip seals. It was a bit over kill but I never did have one leak on me again. I recently bought another 2nd work truck for one of my employees and its leaking so I was going to go through it and fix all the small problems.

I used this in my 99 last summer when I rebuilt the pump - This is all spread out going around the seal:
NAK TC 28 38 7 12

Hope this helps you out.

The seal in the Cummins kit is a double lipped seal. The next time I have to replace mine I'll take a look at the double seal idea.

Actually the Gould kit was $75 delivered from Geno's but includes two seals, two sets of O-rings, 1 gasket, plus PVC tools for removing and installing and a video. The video (1 hour) is excellent with a wealth of information to prevent you from screwing up the job. If I am spending the time to pull and reinstall the vacuum pump certainly want to replace the seal, o-rings, and gasket while I'm at it.

The OP has done the job before, so the CD isn't needed, plus anyone with a socket set has the tools needed for the job. The Cummins kit comes with written instruction w/ pictures BTW. Genos also sells a double seal kit, etc for $32. Using a complicated math equation it appears that two Cummins kits cost less than one Gould kit, but I may have hit the wrong buttons.

I'm replacing mine for the 2nd time , but here is the double lipped seal that I got from Purvis bearing company in McKinney Tx . Timken # 252277 Under that number there is another set of smaller
100129919 one

The actual size of it is 1.000 x 1.375 x 0.250
I hope that helps . It was a bear trying to get just a seal from almost any auto parts . If it's not on a computer it's not there !!
