Just curious as to how much more torque the 68rfe can handle in the 2014 models? Seriously thinking about installing a Stryker module and wondering if it can comfortably handle the extra 200ft lb of torque? I doubt it will ever be put to the max with the module...Mainly wanting it for the little extra fuel economy and throttle response

WHY would you do that with a new truck that has a warranty! These new trucks are way to expensive to repair to compromise one's warranty!!!! 68RFE rebuilds cost almost twice what I paid for a 47RE rebuild!

X3 on the leave it alone sentiment. Manufacturers look for any little excuse to deny warranty these days......don't give them a reason!

To answer your question, it really depends on the driver. The stock transmission hold up fine, myself and MENY others are running extra power without any problems, but it will not handle abuse. As long as you use common sense you wouldn't have a problem, drag racing and burnout shows, it wont last.

Thanks Bob....Def not installing it for racing, abuse etc....Just would like that little extra mpg while towing...Im actually pretty conservative on driving as Nitto trail graps are not cheap!

Famous last words. So many times I get the "I only ran it in the low setting"
We all like a little more.just be prepared to open your wallet when things go south

What is the MPG for towing with the stock 2014 truck? What type of trailer do you tow?

I have an 08 towing a 11K 5er that is 12.6' tall behind the truck. This is like moving sail down the road against the wind. My truck is modified with a Smarty S67 set on CaTCHER Level 3 which adds about 60HP at the rear wheels. I tow in this setting all of the time and my MPG when towing is around 12 MPG.I have seen a low of 10.5 MPG and a high 13 MPG but most of the time around 12 MPG.

I don't know of very many others who see much higher than this when towing stock or modified. BTW my fuel mileage is hand calculated and averaged over 7 years of recorded data.

Just pulling my 20ft Bassboat, its around 12mpg...But its also leveled with 295/70/18...that's running 70-75 on level highway....The Stryker module isn't a programmer per say...It hooks in the wiring harness of the injectors and changes the timing of the fuel duration..Load based. There is no adjustment to it...It works the duration of fuel depending on the load

Do you want to improve your fuel mileage and not spend any money? Slow down try to tow the boat at 60 to 65 MPH and see if the fuel mileage improves! You may want to check a couple of tank-fulls to verify the improvement. Speed will kill fuel mileage this is a proven fact; remember you are trying to move an 8,000 LB truck with the trailer attached that again way maybe 5,000 LBS. This mass will take a lot of energy to move down the road. The front of the truck is not very aerodynamic either.

I tow at 55 to 60 MPH and can only achieve what I post above.

Towing 65 is about the same as 75...maybe .5 mpg better...And honestly, I don't have the patience to drive under 65 when making long trips to the lake..Have been told from people running the Stryker that it helped the mpg a decent amount when pulling or towing..Just didn't want to give the truck more power than it could handle...and extra 200ft pounds or torque isn't a lot over the 800..and that's maxed out...I doubt it would even be putting out close to that just towing on the road...But the extra mpg from a load based module would be nice

Well I hope your boat trailer does not have ST tires speed restricted to 65MPH!

Go ahead and become your own warranty station! Just don't come a cry here if RAM cancels your warranty!
