I am changing my 2006 3500 DRW to SRW using Rickson 19.5 rims for a camper build. I want to run 265/70R 19.5 Toyo M608-Z tires. The OD is 34.4" unmounted and not inflated. My question is will the spare fit under the truck in the stock location without alterations?

I have a M608z 245/70R19.5 under mine, it's a tight fight and I am not sure a 265 would fit.

I do have a hellwig standard sway bar and it's one of the limiting factors, if you have a big wig (assuming you do for a camper build), it will be even tighter. My aftermarket Class V hitch is also a little bigger, but not really a limiting factor.

My other clearance issue is the MH diff cover, so I have a ratchet strap holding the tire aft.

The 265 is a big tire!!! I am not sure I would want a tire taller/heavier than my 245's for hauling on a pickup.

I have the Vision wheels and a 265 would also have clearance issues up front, so watch the backspacing on your Rickson's.

Thanks for the reply, sounds like the 265s won't fit. I admit I'm new to this and not sure why I would want the 265/70r. I was set on 245s then just thought the 265s would be better. My truck is not lifted and with the camper, XP Camper V1, the truck will be near the max 12,200# I think. No way of knowing until it is installed, loaded and weighted. What is your thoughts on the M608z tires and did lift your truck?.

It will be very tight if they do fit.

The 245's will have all the weight support you need.

I am quite happy with the M608z's, they are quiet and have excellent traction. They appear to be wearing a little quicker than I would have expected but time will tell.

Hauling weight with them is so much different than LRE tires, it's night and day. I love the way they handle and ride.

You feel the road a little more, but I cannot say it's really a rougher ride.

The heaviest I have been with them is 11,980 GVW with 7160 on the rear axle, 19,560 GCW. I really don't feel the weight, not like I could with 5500lbs on the LRE tires.

I run a 295/70-18, 34.2" tall, in the stock location. I have a Reese titan Class V hitch which is a bit bigger than the stock hitch. It is a tight fit but will work as long as you don't have an oversize diff cover. I can see a small bit of polishing of the diff cover but not enough to be of concern. More like it keeps the dirt from building up. You may want to consider a ratchet stap to hold the tire tight against the hitch as I have a bit of clearance against the back of the hitch which should make up the difference between my tire and the one you are running.

My Hankook DH01 spare in 265/70R19.5 at 100 PSI fits, but there's like only 1/4 inch on each side. The Toyo's are probably similarly sized.

The only point is that all those tires won't fit if a MagHighTec Diffcover is installed.
Ask how I know... ;-)

A ratchet strap stretched across the tire and anchored at the holes in the inside frame should enable you to hold the spare aft toward the hitch.
I know my 285-75-17's would hit the Mag Hytec without the strap.
I've used one since new as my tire winch failed on my 2nd gen and I haven't trusted them since.

That's what I do. My 245/70R19.5, 255/80R17, and 285/70R17's all clear the MH... but not by much.

Ok, mine did touch it on purpose even fully pressed to the rear. So I bought an other Cover from Genos that's a little smaller.
