If one is buying a new truck that does not have the factory trailer brake controller, can the dealer easily add it? Cost is only like $220 when ordered, what does it cost to have the dealer do it? SNOKING

I have yet to see a 2014-15 w/o the OEM controller. You must have found the only odd ball Ram under the sun.

Some list it on the window sticker and some do not. I am looking at one with the 5th wheel prep and it is not listed, yet is present in the pictures! Confusing! Snoking

What model are you looking at? As it is standard on the higher trims and optional on the lower ones.

All of the Tradesman pickups on the lots in my local area have the OEM brake control but it is listed as an option on Ram builder for the Trademans model.

I was told by the parts guys at my local Dodge dealer that all the new integrated brake control trucks are pre wired and to add a brake controller you just pop it in the dash in place of the filler panel and plug the harness in, same with the trailer plug, just pop in the plug setup into the bumper knockout and plug into the harness, then install the missing fuses. done.

Just keep in mind, not getting the tow package may mean light duty cooling and lower amp alternator, etc.. but they say the wiring is all there.

I just looked in my '15 book that I happen to have in front of me, and the integrated controller is O/P (Optional or Package) on ALL the lines, even the Long horn. However, the integrated controller comes with the Package that has the 7x11' tow mirrors and the factory hitch.... so if you see the tow mirrors on a truck (or a hitch), it should definitely have the brake controller as well as it's part of that package.

That is incorrect
There are no missing fuses,Once the controller is installed the option code must be added po the corporate daat base then the truck must be reconfigured by the dealer for the controller to function

My 2013 Tradesman did not have the controller installed from factory. I had the dealer install it as part of my deal purchasing the truck.
